Popping noise when turning and reverse

I am having same issues with my crew cab. I think mine sounds more like a "ticking" noise. It will go tick,tick,tick then stop but happens the same way. Shifting into drive or reverse, turning and accelerating. Is there a TSB on this because it needs to go back to dealer before I tow my 33' travel trailer. Thanks for the thread on this, I tried to start one but no luck.

If it is the wheel bearings they are cover under your 5year/100,000 mile warranty. I just had mine replaced at 70,000 miles.

Try torque'n your front crossmember. That did it for my 08ext cab

I have that exact same problem with my 2010 Silverado 4x4. I have checked everything but still havent found out why it pops just once. Its driving me crazy so i guess ill just start replacing things starting with the CV joints. If you have any luck, let me know.

My 08 Sierra did pop only when driving forward while making a left hand turn. Took her to the stealer they grease everything and it went away for a bit.

I take mine monday to the dealer, lets see if they can find and fix the noise. Any suggestions to tell them where to start looking? I will keep this topic posted on how I made out.

I am not saying this is the problem, not even sure if the gmt-900's have swaybar end link issues. My wife had an acadia that made a solid popping noise when making a hard turn at low speeds. It ended up being the swaybar end links, these were apparently a problem with these vehicles, as there were many discussions on it in a envoy forum I used to keep up with. I replaced them with ones that had grease fittings and never had a problem with it again. Hope this helps!

OK, dealer called and told me the drive shaft is where the noise is coming from. They have to order another one and install tomorrow. Dealer did tell me they had this same problem before. I will keep you posted.

Had to leave a reply to revive this thread but I've searched all over the Internet to try and find out why there's a loud bang while reverse and Turning and clunky over bumps. The condition as many described here and it had me going crazy. I just picked up from my dealer and turns out it was a loose bolt on my front right caliper. With the loudness of the sounds I heard I thought for sure it was something serious but so relieved when they told me it was just a screw. Now rides perfectly. Hope this may help anyone else looking for a possible solution. Cheers. Car is a Yukon Denali.

A loose bolt in a brake caliper IS serious, at least to me. Glad they found it before your caliper worked loose.

looking back at that comment yes a loose caliper is serious guess I was just happy it didn't cost a lot of money to fix lol:)

Definitely serious I just had a Yukon in last week that the bolts fell out and ripped the caliper off the hose. When it came in the shop the caliper was on the bottom of the rotor.
