GMPP Touring Muffler

Hey guys, look what I found for $33:

GMPP tip: http://www.borla.com...od_sku=19156357

when you add to cart is shows as the "Esclade [/] Denali" tip.

Saw the tip on ebay, and noticed the PN on the box in the pic was a Borla PN.

YOUR WELCOME!

sadly the sport muffler is now $95, but still, GMPP muffler and tip for $130 isn't bad Get a muffler shop to just make you the tubes from the cat back and you have the whole system for a lot cheaper.

My tahoe LTZ seems to have that tip or one just like it, and notcied it has a hole near the clamp, and the pip to muffler has a hole on the weld. Sounds like a good excuse for a muffler, no?

Also, I didn't see any word on if there are any power gains?

 Was looking at my exhaust tip to see what it said as I noticed it said something but I did look until today......

"FLOWMASTER"

Thought it seemed to sound too good to be stock. I hadn't floored it with the windows down(although the FIPK I installed today probably helped, never realized how much sound deadening in is the new Tahoes! With the windows up it isn't loud( just a great rumble), that why I didn't realize it. It has almost no drone, kinda suprised, I don't know what series it has. All I saw was that the weld on the tip had started rusting, so I ordered the GMPP since it's so cheap, and a Borla.

Guess I'm not in as big a hurry to swap it out now.

The GMPP exhaust I put on my 08 came with the tip welded on the kit. For the price Borla is selling them I am going to pick one up to add to my MBRP exhaust.

Did you buy your muffler from Borla? I thought the Borla muffler PN was for just the muffler?

And if you don't mind, you have the inTune, Was it worth it? does it do what it claims(MPG raised even with 87, 20+ hp gain on high octane tune)?

After looking at this tip, it's not the one that came with my GMPP cat-back but I did order it for my other truck.

My brother purchased just the muffler from Borla, the performance one when they were on sale a while back......

I got my GMPP cat-back from the dealership when I bought my 08 V-Max. There are GMPP cat-back systems listed on the Borla website if you take the time to look through them all. You are correct about the muffler, the part number here everyone is ordering is for just a muffler, that's it.

The GMPP cat-back for the Tahoe (without tip) is listed as Part# 19156345 selling for $333.90. It's almost $800 from GM, you may want to take a look.

The inTune is worth it IMO, especially now that TCM support is on there. BIG difference in performance, driving, truck drives like it should. I haven't used the 91 octane tune because fuel prices are through the roof. I just run 89 octane in my trucks.

The set up I have looks like maybe a Flowmaster catback(look like fairly equal aging on that part). so if I ever replace it I'll just need a muffler anyway.

Does the TCM tune make a big difference on the 4 speeds? seems like everyone is prasing tunes for 6 speeds......

Not sure anout the 4 speed. My 08 is still using the Predator since the inTune will only work with 1 vehicle. DS has been saying they will offer multiple licenses but that's going on a year now and still didn't happen. IMO you should save yourself some money and give Black Bear Performance a call

if you are looking for a tune.

Just looked at their site, and the closest thing to the inTune isthe AutoCal @ $549(to have a unit that offers 4 different tunes).

I want to be able to run the 87 octane tune, and switch to a tune optimized for high octane if I want. If I did the entry level, then I am looking at having to swap my trucks computer if I want to do that.

One of the guys that works at diablo will do Custom tunes for you through his own site, so I could get an inTune, and if I ever wanted a full custom tune, I just email him the log file and pay the difference(you ccan buy a full kit up front and save some money.

Hmm, I was looking for the sport cat back system and can't find one for the Tahoe. I found the Silderado one using google, but google, their catalog and their site don't list any for the Tahoe. Anyone know it?

also check GMPP catalog and website and didn't see it there either. I guess they didn't make one for the Tahoe....

edit:

crap! FORGET IT, SHIPPING COSTS $106!!!! Cheaper to just have a shop make the same tubes for you!

Lew does custum tunes but DOES NOT work for Diablo Sport. He did one dor my 08 V-Max and it works great. I am on the second revision but have not been able to do a log for him because I am still out of state for work. He does great things and knows his stuff. If you decide to go with DS, check him out.

Amazon has the InTune for $350 right now. Pretty temping. That bring it down to his package price if I decided to do a tune, there wouldn't be a rush.

Okay, I saved the link on the Borla site for the touring muffler. I had done this back in the summer. Now when I enter a part # (19131346) the Borla site has no results. So I'm guessing the touring and sport mufflers are still available but how to find them?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks guys.
