Allison Issue

Had to stomp on it last week to merge into traffic and it fell right on it's face. Had to back off of the throttle to get going. I have always noticed when I accelerate hard, it shifts funky. What gives?

Are you getting any lights on dash? Check engine, reduced power?

Nothing as far as any lights etc. I am just baffled. I have ignored it for years. The mechanics at the local GM dealership are not very knowledgable and seem to be "part changers" so that wories me. It was dumping fuel two years ago and they changed every injector, fuel pressure regulator, and one other part before another two dmaxes showed up with the same symptoms. It ended up being the manifold on top of the fuel filter blowing off fuel in hot weather. Anyway, I have no clue?

Fuel filter(s)? Vacuum leak? Just throwing stuff out there as I don't know the DMax from a hole in the ground.

Diesel doesn't create vacuum, and I have changed the fuel filter frequently, doesn't affect it. TQ management shouldn't cause a reaction like that. It would be a seemless affect. I don't even see how it would be even possible on a diesel, no timing to retard?

Sounds like a bad T/C
