Cree 5 watt LED fog light bulbs

I was so impressed with the Cree back up lights, I decided to pick up some for my fog lights. I got them on ebay and only took a couple days to get. And again, I'm just as impressed!

And a comparison pic

Did you need to use an "inverter" to stabilize the voltage?, I understand that on certain usage (brake lights (not 3rd)) that the LED bulbs may not work properly.

I like them. I have HID's in mine right now and I think they might be a little too much.

Well any issues with these bulbs yet? anyone flashing you or anything? Are tey really blue looking or a pure white LED look? Thanks

So they look bright when you're looking at them head on...but how do they look from the driver's seat? Do they actually function like real fog lamps? Real fog lamps have a very distinctive pattern to prevent illuminating the fog and cast their beam under it.

Vehicles have not used "fog" lights in years, most often now they are called driving lights and are used to illuminate the area down low and in front of the vehicle.

Looks good man.. thinking of going with HID's for my headlights. These might finish the package

and as long as the angle of the housing didn't change at all, they should work just like the stock bulbs. There is no reason anyone should flash you because of your fogs.

Not true, housings and reflectors are designed for a certain type of bulb. This is why most HID conversions are a major fail. Most of the time people put HIDs or LEDs in housings designed for incandescant type bulbs and actually cause more harm than good. You may think they look good, but alot of times the performance is actually worse, and you could be causing serious problems for oncoming drivers.

Not to sound like jerk, but "down low and in front of the vehicle" is the intended purpose of "fog" lights. Now to contridict myself, true fog lights would be more beneficial if they were a different color, i.e. yellow as they once were, but some states have actually made those type illegal for whatever reason. Just a humble opinion.

Let me try this again, sorry if it posts twice. So far, I havn't had any problems with them, no voltage problems, no flashings, all is good. The first pic was from my phone and made them look brighter than they are. I'd say they work just as good, but no better, than stock, but just a different color. I have not used them in fog yet, so I can't comment on that. But here's a pic from a camera with my headlights on, SilverStar zXe. They are a little blue'er than I wanted, but not too bad. I was trying to match the silverstars, but couldn't find anything in that bulb number.

You guys crack me up.....Rick, they look great....

I have HID's in mine and LOVE THEM!!! Trust me...Light is light. The reflector of a lamp assembly only directs the beam of light, it does not care how the light is produced. Hid's are less wattage than stock bulbs. The color or temp band of the spectrum is what's different and makes them seem brighter. My low beams are HID, as are my driving lights and they are spectacular. They light up the road so I can see better, thus my family is safer...I love them. No one of normal age flashes me, maybe only some Blue Hairs now and then but they should not be driving anyway....

Oh, also...If you're going to use your driving lights as FOG lights, you should get them as close to 3000k (yellow) as possible. Bright light does not work in fog...It just makes it worse.
