paint coming off steering wheel controls

wife's 06 denali; the black paint is starting to rub off a couple of the steering wheel controls

 

is there an easy fix for this? like some magical black paint?

 

i've already suggested she be a bit more careful with the nails but it doesn't appear to be working

Same thing is happening to my truck too. Either replace them or I guess look for some type of paint to cover them up.

A black Sharpe is a temp fix. These buttons will need to be replaced.

 

They snap out from the front.....

Interesting isn't it? The buttons on the stock radio in our '01 GMC YXL look perfect, even with 150K miles and much more use. The buttons in our '05 look like total crap, paint off all of them, with half the miles driven.

BTW, the OE radio push buttons can also be replaced seperately on the 2000+ up radios.

 

Just take a copy of your VIN# up to your local dealer parts counter & get the correct PN#'s/prices.
