My 2010 Silverado 6.2 exhaust solution...

Had my truck since August of 2010 and wanted an aftermarket exhaust, but just could not find one that really scratched my itch. All of the ones that were available were a 3" diameter only. The 6.2 L comes with a 3.5" from the factory, so I sure wasn't going to downgrade to a smaller exhaust. Here is my solution, and the results have been fantastic...

Unfortunately, the u bolt also is connected to the rubber grommet where the pipe hangs. It is one comprehensive piece. I have been looking into trying to make my own hanger where I weld the piece that goes into the grommet onto a band clamp for that cleaner look. Just haven't gotten around to it yet.

If you go the band route you will need to notch in the slip fit for it to hold. The band clamp can't apply enough force without breaking to pinch the metal like a u bolt clamp can. I learned this installing my Gibson exhaust when I broke the 4 inch band that came with it wondering why my exhaust stil moved. I called them furious and told me it was a known issue due to what I previously stated and some reason the bean counter thought it was to expensive to start notching their kits. Luckely a local Orielly's had a 4" clamp so I could get back on the road.
