Power Folding Mirrors on 2006 Silverado 1500 No Longer Operate

We have a '06 Silverado 1500 with the power folding mirror option, had the mirrors folded in and one of my nephews was going to use the truck, didn't know that he was to press the button to fold the mirrors out so he manually moved them out into the "normal" position.

 

Now when you press the switch to fold the mirrors, the mirror glass will move as before, and the mirror heads will start to move just a little but then nothing more.

 

Any ideas, or will this be an expensive fix?

I think there is a relearn procedure for the mirrors to work properly again. Check your manual if there is one.

That same thing happened to mine at the car wash. I just hit the power fold button in, out, in, out ... and they were fine. They hung up half way the first in, out cycle ... then they folded back out & worked properly from then on.

 

Maybe you'll get lucky ... but mine is an '07. Probably a different animal ...

Thanks for the replies. I'll have to check the owners manual tonight, and maybe it will be something simple as 07blackZ71 or Jsdirt mentioned - hopefully.

To update, as 07blackz71 mentioned, in the owner's manual it states how to reset the power folding mirrors-just need to operate the mirror switch (for folding) 3 or more times and it will reset them to work properly again.
