I need to start looking for a job. Thinking of something like CNC, but have no experience. Anyone know how physical it is? From what I've read it seems to vary per workplace. With my arthritis problems my work possibilities are narrowed, so trying to figure something out.

The CNC machining I did was very easy, non physical work. We did only make pipe fittings though.

Sounds like it depends on the place. I'm just trying to come up with some stuff. I have a list of "at home" jobs but they are all simple part time stuff. Amazing in this day there aren't a lot of varied work at home jobs. Most jobs that use computers could be work at home. I think I may have "finished" where I am, guess I should have pushed for medical retirement when I had the chance. I should know soon. If they don't boot me out I'll be on the brink, after they decided to use the nearly max punishment the first time there I did anything "wrong" (coworkers were actively allowed to do the EXACT same thing for years), they have no where else to go, but over the cliff.

 

 

Maybe I should start a You tube channel called "random crap". About random crap. :lol:

Flexjobs.com has lots of great at home positions. You pay $30 for a year but it's well worth it.

They are dragging this out, haven't heard anything yet, probably because it's spring break here and many people are on vacation. But I knew of a guy that seemed to have committed a felony on the clock, and they let him work 4 more days before showing him the door. Seriously

It was on the news this morning they were on the hunt for a woman, they had been getting multiple reports of a "crazy woman " pulling a gun at random people in random places, they finally got a name and got her picture in the news......And....

Officials said Madison Dickson opened fire on police. Officers fired back, but they don't believe anyone was hit.

 

Dickson was then hit by a patrol car.

 

Police confirmed before 3:30 p.m. that Madison was killed.

 

 

Look in the pics, she was near a playground, looks like the Cop was thinking fast and smart.

Found an interesting job, you basically just need to be computer literate and teachable, they will train you to operate a custom program for a health system, and to build and maintain it for them. Pay wildy varies, but looked up the position at sites(it's a custom tailored program by each company that uses it, but used in the industry at other places) and it varies by company from an amount I can live to to more than I make now, and with experience gained, up 50% more at higher level positions. (Which are basically the same job but more responsibility)

 

Think I'll apply. Can't hurt, even though I still have a job. I'd happily leave it before I'm forced to.

Job applications greatly vary based on industry. A lot of companies only want a single page resume. Most online systems unless explicitly stated will automatically deny an application if it comes through the system as two pages. I would try to contact the companies HR department and see what they prefer. Or message a HR rep for them if they are on LinkedIn. If you don't have LinkedIn make one.

 

Edit: Also feel free to PM me I'd be happy to help. And don't be too honest in your resume. For reason for leaving just say that you have grown your current position and there is no more opportunity for you to grow with the company. And don't be afraid to Google stuff such as key phrases, good words to use, etc.

Seeking new opportunities. And good luck! Don't quit your current job until you have something new promised to you. I quit my last job back in June and I am struggling to find good work again. May have to go to work at the Home Depot just to get by :( $11.00 an hour is a huge change from $75,000 a year. :idiot:

A long time ago(8 years?) my wife was promised a job(it was basically something she already had 5 years experience, but happened to be at a place literally 4 blocks from our house(made a promise she could be there no matter the weather or roads), but was told it could be a month because they were just bought out and were having to go through a new hiring process through their parent company. She's still waiting.....:lol:

A month before I was hired at my current job thier acquisition by a fortune 500 company had just began. There was 6 weeks between me accepting the job and my first day.

I can't figure out if I want to punch or hug whatever moron tried burning down the UPS Hialeah hub. Lots of added BS but lots of OT because of it too since we're picking up their slack. Extra 30k+ packages a day. Thankfully they are the smallest of the the 3 hubs in Florida. If Jax went down I wonder how screwed we'd be in Orlando lol

I think it's(my thing) being drug out to benefit from my experience for major stuff going down soon. Sounds like a good idea to quit so they don't get the satisfaction.

if you were death imminent for 21 years, and finally got a doctor's appointment 12 years after the last one...

 

what would you bring up to the doctor?

 

should it be like geometry, approach from an angle?

      Its coolant disguised as oil.   TSB 20-NA-166 -  20-NA-166 1..3   "To inspect for this concern, add coolant dye to the system, run the engine through warm up, pressurize the cooling system after warming the engine to operating temperature (let the engine cool overnight) and inspect the suspect cylinder with a borescope for coolant dye evidence. At times it may be necessary to remove the head for inspection. If the head casting line is the concern, the intake port will be wet with a coolant oil mix"

      Can you sample the pooled liquid, enough to confirm it is oil?   ...That its not fuel or coolant.   Also, make sure combustion gases aren't entering the cooling system.   Simply put, either oil being pushed up past the rings (this really isn't possible), oil leaking past the head gasket, oil leaking past the valve, oil entering through the intake air path. If none of this is likely - it may not be oil.   What could be likely is the fuel injector leaking down. A puddle of gas would still smoke and rough idle. (Same cylinder has the same problem after injector replacement?)   What is the crank time first thing in the morning, when the puddle would be present? Does it seem like the high pressure fuel pump needs an extra second or two to rebuild the pressure that injector 8 may have let bleed off? Check the fuel pressure via a scanner prior to starting the engine.

      Good information!  I didn't know about the dementia aspect and asked for a general for my second knee. I'd heard that recovery room time is usually shorter with a general.   The anesthesiologist talked me out of it and I had the spinal.  Inconvenience and/or discomfort is a small price to pay for reduced risk!

      This is for those over 70 years of age contemplating joint replacement surgery involving general anesthesia. Even some 55 yrs. ago when I took my pharmacology class the dangers of developing dementia in the elderly that had general anesthesia were beginning to be recognized. Over the years there has been some refinement in the cautionary warnings, avoid general anesthesia if possible if you've had close to 10 priors, especially over the age of 70 and/or a family history of dementia. I'm not including the twilight anesthesia induced by propofol often used in cytoscopies or colonscopies. Seriously think about seeing a neurologist and undergo cognitive testing before proceeding if any of those criteria apply to you. Spinal anesthesia may be an option in some cases. I'm in the above camp and although I could use a new right knee, I get fidgety according to a prior orthopedic surgeon when the bone saw spools up or maybe it was the smell of saw blade meeting bone, anyhow I may have one general anesthesia left in me which I will pocket for now and I'm choosing mind over mobility, anyway where did I leave my damn cane!
