8.1 Re-build... Need Some Input

Just curious, but what is your goal for use of the truck? You already have the one with the raylar cam and tuned up with more work planned...other than doing something similar with a diesel instead, is there a difference in your intended use? Or are you planning on selling the gas truck when the diesel gets built up?

No i love the white sierra.. Thats a keeper, I was going to just build the 8.1 and make a fast toy truck but still will use it fordoing stuff, If i put a diesel in this cc lb fully loaded silverado it will be the family truck and

be able to pull any camper we get comfortably while getting 12-15mpg..

 

Before this truck popped up, I was looking into a mega cab cummins

Simple. Lift pump, CAI, str8 pipe and dsp5 switch. I can hook you up with some very reputable tuners and good prices!! Doesn't take much to get 450-500...you could do in a tune alone but I wouldn't recommend it without a lift pump and some sort of exhaust. Most guys with stock tranny shoot for 450-480...after that your tranny is playin with fire.

edit: just realized you have a 5 speed, i wouldnt go past 450 without a shift kit in a 5 speed.

 

How do you feel about the banks kits/products? I was looking at a banks 6 gun set-up.

If your tow mirrirs are in the outer position, they're good for 75 hp

Don't do it. Call ATP trucks, or TPT trucks. Use kory Willis or rob coddens. banks is expensive for a canned tuner for little gain.

Cummins are awesome if you can spend the $$$$. They need hard parts to make powa tho, duramax can net over 500rwhp safely with little upgrade.

Gotcha.. Ill get it installed and then worry about the details i guess, $3500 seemed like a good deal ecspeccially

for an lbz, I had two lly trucks and wasnt impressed.
