1500 tire question

Its probably an old an often asked question, but I'm going to ask it again. I have an 08 GMC Sierra 1500. It came with the 20" wheel option and I'm going to get new tires. As I was talking to the tire dealer, he suggested I go with 275-60-20 instead of the factory sized 275-55-20. He said it added about an inch of height. I do have a 2" level kit so he said the bigger size would not be an issue and I will have more options. I want something a tad bit more aggressive (not a street tire) but I do not run the 20's in the winter nor do I do hard-core offroading. I have black steel wheels and new Cooper AT3 for the winter. I know people are partial to a certain brand/tread design, I'm just curious if anyone has jumped up a size. And if so, any ill effects. In the stock size, I am limited to something like a bfg rugged trail. Thanks for input, good and bad!!

I upgraded to 305/50R20's on my 2004 GMC Sierra SLT years back.

Def. looked good. No speddo calibration was needed either....

Going up to a 275/60/20 will be fine, since you have the 2" leveling kit. There are many guys on this site running that size. However, your MPG might drop a little, compared to stock. As stated above, the 305/50/20 is also popular. That size is shorter than the 275/60's (but still a little taller than stock) but it's wider. Many guys on here are very happy with Cooper Zeon LTZ's. They're more aggressive than a street tire, but have very good road manners.
