You guys pay 500-800 a month for health insurance???? Really??

Not to brag or anything, but I only pay $312 a year for the Wife and I, and I have a $0 CoPay for everything. Dental is $5 per month, and I get $1000 allowance per year per person.

Of all things, REALITY TV? I guess Canadians really don't follow the NFL.

Just comparing it to ours.. Have you seen big brother Canada??? It's absolutely terrible. We just don't put the money into it like the states

O and we have the CFL... Bigger footballs and more yards.. Although I still rather watch the nfl.

Is Canadian football what we decided to call soccer?

I don't know anyone who pays that much per month on health insurance. Even for family plans.

I pay about $100/month but because I work for a smallish company it costs more. Bigger companies tend to be cheaper. Family insurance might be like $230. If someone is spending $800/month for insurance they're getting shafted. And my overall deduction percentage isn't even 30% not counting 401k contribution so I don't know where those numbers come from. I have lots of customers I've talked at length with in Canada about taxation and such and Canada definitely takes a bigger bite, especially in the eastern provinces but y'all seem to get more shit from it- like your govt is a bit better at spending the tax dollars but then again it's the US that keeps the bad guys overseas in line. This budget crap is complex.

You have to consider some companies don't provide healthcare, and some price gouge tremendously. Try getting a family plan without employer assistance and see what it is ;)

My brothers company is a decent company.. Steel / Metal Fab company with about 200 employees.. Costs him 40$ or so a pay check for himself. He had to drop his wife from the plan because it was 461$ a month.

I'm not saying in all cases.. because at work my 1500deductable plan with 85/15 is ZERO for single full-time workers, and we get decent other benefits as well. Not no Microsoft but decent.

Reason I posted is to see if there were any similar instances out their, I guess that my brother lands in the minimum. Before I took the free plan at work i was covered by Tricare for 51$ a month through the military so It was never an issue of where I worked. But I know I have seen some people paying 400+ easy for premiums per month.

My total deductions before 403b comes out is 30-31% total between Federal/ state taxes, Fica and social security.

I'd rather pay for my healthcare too. Then I don't have to wait 6 hours to get stitches. Free healthcare is a joke, not enough beds, doctors get paid by the patient so they don't call in the on-call...free healthcare is a joke in a way. I would pay monthly fee to have better service. Damn straight.

Yes Sir it is. We renew our contract in December, and I think it will end up going up in price somewhat, which sucks, but for as good as it is I won't mind to much as long as it doesn't go through the roof.

Say what you want about me but have you seen what this country is turning into? I refuse to raise a child in this country as long as homosexuality, taking guns from innocent people, and a corrupt president are considered OK. I am ashamed of what this country has become. And in no way did I disrespect anyone that serves or served so you need to chill out.

If politics are going to be thrown around, why not make a damn thread dedicated to it so people can have fights about it their instead of anywhere info/entertainment is norm. I think it is healthy to voice an opinion on your view of politics so this is a suggestion so nothing goes further in this thread.

This has come up before. It is against site rules and it opens up for harassment and bashing.

Leaving that crap off here is smart some people get butthurt and say stupid things. Look at me, my warning point was from insulting an American guy with some total left wing opinions. Turns out he was a mod LOL.

If you wanna argue politics or talk about street racing join the DF or pirate4x4, anything goes....

    • My truck is a ¾ ton but my placard also says 80 for the rear tires, I think I might have the upgraded suspension to the 3500 series maybe.   I put my air down to 60 and the light was still on, and there was no way I was putting over 60 psi in the rear empty and not towing because I knew the actual number Toyo gave me and I didn't wanna ruin the center of my tires!   And you actually can change it in the settings from metric or is and it will show kph or mph then when you go into your tire settings it will be either psi or kpa, but it would be nice to just change it directly on the tire psi page
    • Common Sense Assembly   Your driveline is forgiving of the occasional mistake. It will even often forgive the random serious blunder. But it will not forgive a continuous bad habit.      What? Not everything needs to be a five thousand word essay.
    • We drove about 15 minute east today to visit a friend and saw a steep increase in price in the same county. About 50 cents a gallon steepper.
    • Sure about that? A degree wheel and a dial indicator would lower your degree of assurance in that statement. 😉    It why we have offset keys and dialable timing sprockets. Just say'n.... I've built a few and have never seen one "On the money".
    • I will admit I haven't experimented much with pressure drops beyond the numbers I put in and part of that is that the numbers I used are fairly low and then found out it would trigger regardless at that 35 psi. Having said that I had tried before had changed the placard pressures and being that I have a 1 ton set to 80 on the placard for the rear I believe it triggered close to 60, the front I don't recall now for sure but thought maybe it could get close to 45 from that factory 60 placard pressure. So I never did figure out if it was a number of psi from placard pressure to the alarm or a percentage of the total placard number as some figured it was like a 25% drop from placard pressure would trigger it. So as to try and answer your question, I believe I set the placard pressure on the front to 47 or so and while I run the front tires at 40, they have dipped below that some if its colder and I haven't put "winter air" in yet and never once have had the front alarm go off. I would say that the answer your looking for is no, that if you set your placard pressure to 45, you have a certain amount of room to drop below that pressure before the alarm will go off.    The pressures you decide to run in your truck, that ends up being what makes sense to you based on what your carrying in your truck or if towing, then have to bump them back up to something that will carry the load in the rear and the fronts typically left at the same pressure. It all comes down to that chart I put the link to and using an accurate roadside scale to be your guide, both unloaded and then loaded to know your minimum safe pressures.    I just wish GM would allow a person to change the readings for the tire pressures to the English system of pounds as I have to look at that goofy metric reading that will never ever jive in my head and will go over and change it just to figure out what they are if need be and then change it back.
