I want the Xbox, but I'm afraid to spend $500 on it to become useless if I have no internet. Like I said before my internet provider (Century Link) is a ripoff, and price gouges because they're the only service available in my area. They sent me a letter in January saying my rate was going up 10% because it's needed to keep giving me the best service. BS I haven't seen a speed increase in 2 years, and I pay $77 a month now for 5mbps if I'm lucky!

I'm buying a house right now, and I highly doubt I pick up their service after I move in. I'll probably just use my phone.

Yea internet in our area is pathetic which is why it pisses me off that MS comes up with this stupid 24hr check in garbage. They advertise it as up to 10mbps but like I said I'm lucky to see 5 download and 2 upload. That's no joke either.

Probably be atleast another 10 years before we see that here. In 2001 we only had dial up until about 2004 which is when we finally got crappy dsl.

Well I live in a good sized city. My problem is my router. $200 Cisco router and it likes to drop signal and restart all the time.

Wow, mine is a Netgear with the modem built in for $100. It's a pretty good router, but ever since the lightning went through it, it acts weird.

Yea mines definitely not top of the line, but I figured it would be good for my garbage internet atleast.

I have to support a lot of devices at one time. So I paid for a high end router

Makes sense.

I'm considering taking my 360 and all my games, and hardware to trade toward a PS4 at Gamestop. I figured it up that I would get around the $500 mark. The only thing I will miss though is GTA 5...

With it being that bad you might as well look into these hot spot services, I believe most offer unlimited data.

I know Verizon ones don't. Usually the ones that offer unlimited have garbage coverage. I know sprint offers it on their phones but my work phone sucks pretty much everywhere.

You've got it easy. On the ranch I have satellite Internet. 7 gb limit and very slow. Can't play online games and it's to slow to even use a lot of the time. Using 3G to post this right now.

    • I can only guess as well that something was clicked on that brought you to the half ton choices by accident. By all means try again and chose the 3500 and sort out that its the cab and box configuration you want and choose four wheel drive ( rather obvious to have a transfer case ) and to make sure the dually isn't chosen. I find or at least did a couple of years ago when I was sifting through the options that it would sometimes jump ahead after choosing the series of truck and in this case 3500 and skip some of the other initial configuration choices and have to watch the heading bar and sometimes back up by choosing the first in the series of option break downs. I think sometimes the computer will remember items that were last chosen and skip over the first part. Anyway go through it all and depending on the trim level chosen and I think the LT is one that may fall into that where the option of having the 4 high auto transfer case can be chosen, where as a High Country doesn't show that option as it just comes with the fancier ( not necessarily better though in terms of potential problems ) transfer case but for sure both transfer case choices are equipped with high and low range in the HD truck segment. Like Newdude said who works at a dealership, its the half tons that are the ones that will come with the single speed unless certain options or trim levels are chosen that add the two speed transfer case but as your looking at an HD, you don't have to worry about that hot mess.    One item that at least didn't show up and not sure if it does yet or not in the HD options on the manufactures pubic website is the upfitter in cab switch option if one is desiring that. Unfortunately its not wired in at the factory but the panel with the switches is on the dash but the wiring harness to be installed gets tossed under the rear seat to be installed by whomever after the fact to complete the installation.
    • Yesterday we brought home a 6yr  old Havanese dog from a nearby SPCA.  We've had her for 24 hours and we are delighted with how well she is adjusting to her new home.  It  was a huge decision to adopt a dog at this stage in our lives but we believe we made the right choice!   it was reported that her first 6 years were ones of neglect.  I think she's already realizing her life is going to get a whole lot better...  so is ours!
    • I thought I was building a HD 3500 srw, maybe I was lost.
    • No doubt, I definitely agree with you. However, considering the 6.2 and 3.0 have been catastrophically failing with very little miles, I figured I would put trouble free. I’m at 18,4xx and still not a single issue.
    • It’s never dry here but it gets hot. My 4 vehicles I keep at home drive an 18 mile loop. One 6 days a week. Two about 3 days each and one once a month. Only one goes on trips about 4 times a year 1000 to 2000 miles each time. One 26 years old gets driven once a month for 22 years. One 14 years old goes 6 days a week. The other two are recent at 2 and 4 years. All are performing normal no extra service other than that would be half of recommended or severe service in the maintenance manual. No extra water or steam out the exhaust or premature plug wear. I would consider an 18 mile loop would be enough. So apparently once a month at 18 miles for 22 years has kept the collector car running well. About 45 minutes a month.
