Anyone watch the reveal of the Xbox One the other day? Not what I was expecting at all. I want a pure gaming machine not a glorified VCR I mean what was this garbage!? I think I'm going PS4 this time around...

What did everyone else think?

My wife bought me a 360 a couple years back and I havent used the thing a handful of times. I was a heavy duty gamer when the ps2 was popular. I think I have just grew out of them. PC gaming rules.

I love the 360, the interface is no BS if you know what I mean, very easy and fast to do what you want to do, like start a party, see who's on, etc.

Not sure about this new One thing...

I love my 360, but the Xbox One is going to be a joke. Especially after reading this:http://m.gamespot.com/news/xbox-one-preowned-plan-revealed-6408850?tag=Topslot;Slot1/

I don't like the sound of that, looks like it's time to buy a backup 360.

Well there was another story on IGN that MS expects 1 billion Xbox One sales, and along with that they also said they will basically support the 360 for another 5 years.

If I decide to get it, PS4 will be the system, though computer gaming is still supreme IMO, but I think the PS4 is going to outsell the xbox one. One reason being is that the developers of the Halo franchise, Bungy, is debuting a new game call Destiny. It looks as though it will only be a PS4 release for now so I'm thinking this will be something along the lines of Halo but 10X's better. Though we shall see.

I doubt I'll ever buy another console. I guess I'm biased towards Sony since I own a ps1-3. Also biased against the xbox back when the ring of death was huge as I saw thousands of the busted ones go through the Orlando UPS hub to texas for repairs. Had no clue wth they were until someone told me because they'd had to ship theirs back too. Not to mention it was another chunk of change if you wanted to use wireless since MS made you buy an adapter. The newer version has wireless built in but too little too late. I think I read somewhere that the One will have wireless only which if true is just absurd. Xbox has more users on their online thingie (should be since you have to pay for it), the interface is probably better, and more of my friends seem to have xbox's vs ps3s. The PS4 doesn't interest me either, although last I checked there wasn't any info on it. At the announcement event they didn't even have a darn console on display on the controller and even then they weren't sure that was a final product. Neither console have an exclusive game/series that will motivate me enough to drop $400+ on a new console. I like Gran Turismo and God of War but not getting a PS4 just for when those get released.

Personally I'll go the cheaper route and instead of paying for an out dated computer, i.e. a console since that's all they are now, and just stick to PC gaming. Why should I pay $60 for a brand new game when I can easily get it for >$40 and even cheaper if I wait a couple weeks past release. The graphics on consoles are still, and always will be, behind the PC. The whole used game thing has been in the works for years so if this does happen it is no surprise and is yet another reason to get away from consoles. It all comes down to personal preference, the space you have to work with, and if you want to put more effort into it than just plugging in 3 wires.

I was on a website last night that was comparing the prices of the hardware inside the PS4. They were guessing it will cost around $400-$450 which if true isn't that bad compared to the price for a PS3 at launch the last time around, but it is still a lot of money. I plan to keep playing my 360 for a few more years at least and wait for a price drop before buying a next gen console. I would be happy playing my 360 for a few more years yet without these new consoles.

Wonder if prices on 360's will go down or spike up? I'm wanting to get a slim and debating sooner vs. later. I'm definitely not getting a One, especially if Halo 4 (and CE remastered) won't work on it.
