Anyone with a BDS 4" lift and Stock 20s? How far does the stock wheels stick out?

Member pancepance has been running a BDS 4" since the middle of this past summer I believe and he has the stock AT 20s

He has pictures of the set up in this thread. Post # 280. He's running 275/65/20 tires. Looks good

I hate to bring this up again, but I am still having trouble with my stabilitrak kicking in when I make sharp turns at normal speed. I have had the alignment checked and set to factory specs and had the steering angle sensor re calibrated back to zero. The thing is i don't think the factory alignment specs will work as that is for stock suspension. Now that the truck is lifted, it will be slightly different. Can someone who doesn't have an issue and has the Zone 6.5" lift kit installed post up their alignment specs that were used? Usually you will get a printout of the alignment. The specs are in the back of the Zone kit manual, but i have been told that is stock. The toe may need to be tweaked. Thanks.

I do get the traction control kicking in every once in a while. I didn't notice it at all for about the first week, but if i hit a slow speed turn too fast like in town somewhere it will kick in for a second. Also seems to be pretty consistant when pulling out of my work, wheels turned, pulling out from a stop to merge into traffic it will kick in for a second like my tires are spinning but they aren't... I am puzzled also. Mine is nowhere near as bad as the other 2 i have seen do this. It happens so little its almost a non issue but i would like to know what is causing it. I actually called Zone about it for a customers truck and zone said it could NOT be the lift since it complies with the federal mandated stability testing... My customer did tell me he put his stock wheels and tires back on and it didnt do it anymore. I have not tried that because like i said mine doesnt really happen enough to be a problem... As for alignment, i think that may have something to do with why it's worse on some trucks than others. I cut the recommended 5/8 off my outer tie rods and 3/8 off my inners and when i went to align it, my tie rods were bottomed out and couldnt get my toe in line. Had to pull it back apart and cut an additional 1/4 off each inner tie rod to properly set the toe. Camber and Toe specs are the same for factory and zone, zone does recommend a bit higher caster than factory. I think zone makes a good product and i have no regrets whatsoever about installing their lift, but it does seem like they may have an issue since there are multiple trucks with this lift having the same issue. Wonder if the bds has the same problem? Its basically the same lift design...

Nice. You notice an slight increase with those? Also was the harness (assuming their powered) adapter PNP with original?

That makes since as I called a Zone rep about an hour away that installs these kits. He mentioned the tie rod cut needs to be just right. I also called Zone and they think their engineers may be able to help with me supplying some measurements of before and after, etc. I have my first alignment paperwork from the shop who installed the kit and from a dealership who checked the alignment and reset the steering sensor. I am going t have a shop check it one more time and I am going to give them the paperwork and the specs from the Zone kit manual for them to compare and see if they can come up with something. if not, I am going to have GM run diags on my speed sensors. I am not pulling any codes with my scanner though, so hopefully not a faulty sensor and I do not get any lights on any other time than sharp turns. The shop also said you also need to have all the cuts just right. I remember the shop who installed my kit mention afterwards they had to do a lot of cutting and grinding for this kit.

Finally got them shiny side up.

I'm not 100% satisfied with the outcome. I just don't know exactly why just yet.

Hoping that in a few days I will figure out what I want to do different but overall I like it. Just not sure I consider it "done" yet.

Opinions are appreciated. Maybe someone will hit on what I am not seeing. Might be wheels, tires, rake, etc. Its just something.

So you have any pictures of your tuck straight ahead? Or behind? Trying to figure or how much the lift pushes out the front

Slight increase in what?

The mirrors did plug right in but to get everything to work the way it was intended took some rewiring.

haha, looks like the a ghost took my words that should have been there. I was referring to wind noise. Did you notice an increase in wind noise with those bigger/flatter mirrors on the truck?

I'm struggling to find pics of the RCX 5". Does anyone have pics of this setup?

My goal is to run a RCX 5" with stock wheels on 35s.

The lift pushes the front wheels out 1.5 inches

Do you recall what worked with plug and play? I am going this route and even found a manual fold and power fold set. I do not have power fold, but I hear you may be able to add the switch and maybe swap a harness. Wasn't too crazy about rewiring but will if I have to.

Here's a really good thread that has a ton of info. This is where my mirrors are from and it's where I got my info on wiring. Let me know if you have any questions. I'll do my best. I just figured this was better than me trying to explain everything

Thanks! Yeah, I have been following this site myself the past week or so. I just can't seem to find anyone who has posted much about a 2014 that had the standard mirrors and added these DQS mirrors. I saw you had a 2014 and thought maybe we have/had a similar setup. Really wish I knew what would work if I just plug those mirrors in my 2014 what would work without any modification. I only have heat and power adjust so I am assuming that is it.
