TPM Sensor Life Expectancy?

I have a 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 bought new in March of 2011 currently I'm just about to flip 63,000 miles. My Tires still have 7/32's in the front and just about at 6/32's in the rear. I've been hearing conflicting remarks on sensor life, some say sensors are good for 5 years. Others say the sensors are good for ten years. My truck has a build date of September 2010, so technically she's nearing 3 years old.

So does anyone know for sure how long they last? I just would like to know for when it comes time for new tires, if they last on average ten years. I'm just going to leave the stock sensors, if not I'll change them. This is not for saving money, It's more for if it ain't broke, leave it alone aspect.

I never had luck with aftermarket parts in the past from chain parts stores, so It'll be OEM sensors I replace them with, unless there are known good aftermarket sensors. Thanks for any help.

My truck was built nov 2009 (2010 model) and my sensors are still original (only 35k miles). I replaced the tires this past winter and have had no issues

They sell "rebuild" kits for the sensors have not known anyone who has tried them

Sensors fail primarily due to battery failure or improper service procedures. Most service technicians know to install and check and service a vehicle’s TPMS system effectively.Sensor batteries can become discharged and fail – the internal lithium battery is not serviceable, and it has a life expectancy of approximately 5-7 years.Installing the incorrect valve core will cause failure TPMS sensors require a special nickel plated valve core instead of regular copper or brass valve core

I had 60k on my 08 sierra when I traded her in, and was on my second set of wheels no issues with the orginal TMPS. I have 32k on my 2012 silverado and no issues yet. So I'm hoping for the same.

My car is 10 years old with 151k and is on the original sensors. The only problems I've had with TPMS was when the place I had the tires installed on my wife's van messed 2 up changing the tires...they got stuck with a hefty repair bill because only the dealer was able to program new ones.
