Bilstein adjustable for 2014?

I got mine for $85 each plus $8 for shipping from Autoplicity.com. They arrived quickly but the boxes were a little beat-up. I still haven't installed them yet, but today might be the day!

I bought some for my 08 from them. Looked like customer returns to me. Nothing wrong with them. Didn't appear to have been mounted. But the boxes were tore up a bit where they were opened.

I called Bilstein and they said the adjustable shocks for the 14's will be available in the next few months. He stated that the shock is different, (mount due to bump stops) and tuning/damping will be specific to the 2014. They should be ready mid-summer.

Makes you wonder how the damping will be tuned. Currently there's the same shocks for every body config from short bed single cab to crew cab.

I wonder if they will offer a rear shock for a truck that was leveled using shackles? It is either that or I need to find the lower shock relocation brackets to lower my rear shocks.

mcnwil, thanks for the update. Did you call them direct or did your dealer have that information? I just know that last time I asked the Bilstein dealer here, he said he didn't have anything for newer than 2011 because they were so behind on their end. He had to call his warehouse to find out that they had them available for up to 2013.

I really want a set of these, but if the 2014 specific ones are coming soon I'll hold out.

I called them direct. He said they are receiving allot of calls for the 14's.

I put in some 3/4" shock lower spacers for a 1 1/2" lift. I'm going to wait for the model specific shocks to come out. My AT Rancho shocks have a tendency to stack and loose contact with the pavement.

Where did you get the lower shock spacers from?

Posted

Bought them off ebay. It was a three size spacer set. But I'd just choose the size you want.

Ah I see, those are for a lift. I went the other way and lowered the rear of mine because I had no plans to run a bigger tire on the truck. I need something that will drop the lower rear shock mounts.

Those look great...I found them on www.eshocks.com for $75.75 each and shipped for free. I havent pulled the trigger yet on buying, because my truck is at the dealer having a new OEM Rancho shock installed. After I get my truck, I'll drive it for a bit and decide if I want to put the Bilsteins on.

Well, this is disappointing news. I just got off the phone with a Bilstein sales guy that told me the ride height adjustable shocks are not going to be available until late fall or so. He said not to expect them before November.

It really makes me wonder why they are so slow to put anything out. The could have sold plenty of them by now I'm sure and they are probably missing sales to those in a hurry that just go the spacer route. It wouldn't be my business model if I ran that place!

I'd rather wait and get a polished product than have them release it too early and have issues. cough roughcountry cough

I put no name ebay aluminum lower spacers on. Depending on reviews, I'll probably get the 5100s when they come along.
