Bilstein adjustable for 2014?

Recommended Posts

I had slight rubbing on the fabric liners, but quickly trimmed with tin snips. Yes I'm running 20" factory rims. My 5100 front shocks arrived last week but I still haven't had a chance to install them yet. I took advantage of Advance Auto Parts tool lending service for the spring compressor. Really want to do do this, but too many other work/home projects to get done first.

Part Numbers used were:

Initial impression is the ride is firmer but not jarringly stiff.

More controlled over bumps and undulations on road.

Will need to wash truck before snapping pics of it.

I currently have Tuff Country 4" suspension lift on my 2014 double cab. This kit just came with rear shock extensions and front upper control arms and a strut spacer. If I upgraded to the 5100's. Could I get rid of the rear shock extension and possibly the strut spacer?

What slot on the front shock did you use. 1,2 or 3 up from bottom?

Lgetz, thanks for being the guinea pig on this, but I'm with STex, I'd like to know how much lift you opted for. Also, did you have it aligned after? How much does it mess with the front end?

Stex and MTBSam to answer your question I did not personally install the shocks. A local shop here in McAllen by the name of D&D did the work.

A good friend works there so I ordered the Bilsteins from him.

The tires were mounted and Roadforce balanced by them.

They also did a 4 wheel alignment after the install.

I will try to ask my buddy on what position the shocks were set.

Apologize for not taking anymore pics but I strained my ankle and I've had a heck of a time just getting to and from the office.

Thanks a bunch 14 Silverado.

Tough to keep it clean but it really pops when it is.

BTW l like the body colored mirrors and door handles.

You going to do the bumpers too?

Here are some more pictures of the truck as promised.

Again the ride is firmer and more controlled but not stiff by any means.

Averaging about .7 MPG less according to DIC.

Pleased with results so far.

Simple answer....undecided. I thought about painting the front's black portions body color. It might happen, but it will get tint, level and tires first.

And maybe grill insert, upgrade the bulbs in the Headlamps, tune, etc....first, too.

Sorry if this has been asked, but what tires are those on your truck Lgetz?

To the few of you that have ordered these online, where did you find the best price? I see them for about $100 each, but I remember reading that someone found them for $85.
