Truck Wash and Care

I grew up on Meguires, but discovered Zaino in '98, when I bought my
first Vette. I have used nothing but Zaino products on all my vehicles since then. I buy their detailer, "Grand Finale " by the case. If Zaino would cease to exist, I would go to the Adams product line. Actually, I believe it all boils down to proper prep and methodology of use. Good luck with your choices.

I've used a number of different brands over the years, but right now my basement shelf has mostly Meguiars which has started to be replaced with Adams. As others have noted above, I think your technique/prep is more important.

I have a nearly full bottle of Mequiar's Deep Crystal Car Wash that I'll send to you. I used it once and now I don't know what to do with it. My experience with it was not good. My first bottle of Adam's car wash is in the garage waiting for the weekend.

As above, Adams is best in most products and has great vids to cut the learning curve. I also use some Zanio products. As mentioned, presoak, then 2 bucket wash with Adams wash pad. Rinse and blow dry with electric leaf blower and/or Adams great white drying towels. Do not use the Costco, wally world etc. micros. I prefer the Perls car shampoo. It leaves a protect gloss that looks nice.

For a wax I prefer Zanio Z-2 or Z-5 over Adams. Zanio's blonde towel is good too for wax. And their leather care stuff is great and leaves a great leather smell.

Be careful with a cover. It can give swirls overtime as wind moves it around etc. Also if you put it on a dirty truck it will swirl the clear and the cover will be dirty there after. God bless those keeping a black Truck nice.

You should choose the product based on what you want to do. Some folks want to be once and done and are best suited with an all in one wax or sealant. Others like a two or three step process with clay, a polish or paint cleaner and finally a wax or sealant. Then you have folks whole go the whole way with multiple polishing steps, glazes, waxes, sealant and quick detailers to get the most out of their paint.

I do the latter once or twice per year, but do a two step process in between. I also have accumulated way too many bottles and jars throughout the years. I still come back to a few products. I like the Poorboy's World line a lot. The Polish with Sealant is my main product for quick details. I like Clearkote's QuikShine for a quick detailer since I can use it on paint, glass and chrome. I've used Zaino in the past as well. It gets pricey and can be finicky sometimes. But, it looks great and lasts a long time.

Figure out what effort you want to put in and then choose your products from there.
