no problema...My crew cab fit and finish is just fine. Uh the American engineered drive train is the problem. I guess you prefer the dope smokers and beer drinkers for lunch crowd of the northern states????.

Ha! They drink way more beer in Mexico than here and some do during lunch break too. Nothing wrong with a Mexican assembled truck though.

Some folks like to support American workers. I'm on the fence as I don't feel all warm and fuzzy about the UAW but I don't like GM and the other brands hopping the border to save money either.

I would prefer a truck made in usa.or canada. As far as the employed beer drinking dope smoking union members that assemble my vehicle, I prefer them to be here in this country as well. You know so they can be employed and support the local economy that they could not do if they did not have a job. I have noticed that people with jobs/income usually spend more money than those that do not have jobs. This is my choice I have not and will not tell anyone else what they should or shouldnt buy. I was just asking for my information. If given a choice I will support workers here.

My regular cab was assembled here but 18% of the parts came from Mexico and another 8% came from who knows where. Purchasing any vehicle today AFAIK will not be 100% made in the USA. Tariffs, import laws, minimum wage, unions, et al. aside international trade is a good thing. All that really matters is the quality of the product so if you like the quad cabs go ahead and get one.

Ft. Wayne assembly was retooled in 2011 for crew cab 1/2ton capability. I would be ALOT more excited about buying an american made truck if I could.

No harm meant. I thought we were heading towards a bash Mex quality thread. I support American jobs and buy American made when possible. As for the uaw, I do note that the uaw leaders support/supported the current political climate that I think is holding us back on job growth here. I have had interaction with over the border manufacturing and I find the workers there are a lot like those here. Most do an excellent job like the ones here do.

GM new heartbeat of MeXiCo sadly only 4 in 10 are assembled in USA with 61% of the parts made in the USA. Honda and Ford do better than that.

My 2011 can am quad is built in Mexico as is my 14 CC Silverado.I am Canadian and would prefer if they were built in Canada or USA.Its just corporate greed to post higher profits. One day off in the future non of us will be able to afford these trucks as the middle class is shrinking.

Mexico "is quickly turning into the China of the West," said Joseph Langley, a senior analyst at Michigan-based research firm IHS Automotive, pointing to Mexico's low wages, a strong supply base and a global web of free-trade agreements.

Mexican auto exports beyond North America are growing even faster than those within, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. They accounted for nearly 30 percent of the 2.4 million exported last year. Altogether Mexico built 3.0 million cars and trucks, according to Automotive News, compared with 10.4 million in the United States and 2.5 million in Canada.

By 2020, Mexico will have the capacity to build one in every four vehicles in North America, up from one in six in 2012, according to IHS.
