I did not attack your "opinion", I stated a fact. I have bought many cars and have a pretty good feel for how it goes and how it should/can be done. And, while we're at it, please direct our attention to the Washington state law or regulation which states that dealer must "by law" show a customer the invoice of a car. A link will do nicely.

shooting from the hip experience - regarding TRUCKS ...

dealer invoice is about 10% off MSRP and everyone I know pays less than that

(except BJ's / Sams club members Dealer Invoice price that think that is a great price, which it can be but not for Big 3 trucks)

(Truck sale are now the slowest in about 1 year)

1500 trucks are currently at least 20% off MSRP or more with some shopping around (easily if it's a left over 2016)

2500 trucks are different, but now seems 15-20% off MSRP again with some shopping around

the few dealers like Laura are exceptions -

here in New England the dealers are tough to deal with / and they stick together keeping the prices much higher than I see in the Mid West and South

Yup very true. Heck even my area in central and west Alabama dealers typically don't wheel and deal. Another issue is a lot of people just walk in and want a certain monthly payment and don't care about purchase price.

I never understood this. I have walked into a dealer before and when we started talking numbers they asked me where I wanted my monthly payment to be and offered 84 months financing. I was like "how about $150 hahaha". Never understood that trick. Lets focus on the actual price being paid and worry about monthly cost later. I guess for some that can't afford high payments that is the reason, but I've always had a trade in so it hasn't been to bad.

It's a tactic that works for them. Your average car buyer is not only not too bright but also not in the least a savvy shopper. Car dealers are well aware of this.

so, what was your fact, what I said was wrong?????? a good deal is all about perception, you get the best deals known to mankind, and normal people have deals that they can afford and make them happy. disclosure of invoices, when asked for was started when "employee pricing" was started back in the mid 2000's. please feel free to attack this comment at your leisure.

I was asking about the "by law" statement. Please cite the law you refer to.

"Above or Below Invoice" – "Invoice" price referred to in these offers may not really reflect what a dealer actually paid for the car. The invoice price may incorrectly include an amount which the manufacturer holds back and later returns to the dealer as profit. State law requires that advertised invoice prices be the actual cost of the vehicle to the dealer after all manufacturer holdbacks and incentives have been subtracted. This will do, this is my "fact". if fact, it is my constitutional to be right or wrong, much like your self. have fun finding fault with this.

In other words, there is no state law in regard to the dealer showing an invoice, contrary to your statement. Please come back when you have a clue what you are talking about.

Have one coming soon at nearly $2,000 below actual invoice (as it appears on the buy order), and will get all applicable rebates/incentives (including a bonus tag discount) based on the date the truck hits the ground. That's pretty good. As far as being the most intelligent person on the site --- hardly, just a lot brighter than you.
