I agree on waiting. I ordered a 2014 Dierra Denali 1500 in March. The deal was supplier pricing and rebates of $2350 off of a sticker of $53555. 39 month lease, 2.65% interest rate, 59% residual, 12k miles per year and $1208 cash out of pocket. Monthly payment was $527.80 and inuses tax and fees. The truck finally arrives yesterday and the rebates now are $1250 and the interest rate went up on the lease and the payments went to $568.27. I just sent a not so nice email to the dealer sales manger. I want the. To honor what I agreed upon when I ordered the truck 10 weeks ago. Have a meeting at noon today with them. Anybody here got any advice for me to do?

Why lease the truck? I bought mine on an 84mo. loan and my payment is only 478/mo with $0 down! I didn't care about having a long term since my rate is only 2.74%, even if I pay off the truck I will still only pay 40k TOTAL for my Truck after all interest and payments!! That's still 4k under my 44K MSRP!!

I just bought a 2014 Crew cab 4x4, it is a Texas Edition with heated leather and Mylink. MSRP was a little over 46k and i got it for $35,900. About $10,200 off sticker with no haggle. I was very happy with my experience with the dealer, it was worth the 3 hour drive.

Mind if I ask which dealer you got the truck from?

Thanks

On and All Star Edition, you can get about 10K off MSRP if you get a decent dealer.

Holiday Chevrolet in Whitesboro, TX. Very honest and worth the drive. I found them on Autotrader

I did a lot of research before picking a dealer to place an order. I ordered a 2014 Sierra CC SLT All Terrrain with 6.2, Nav, Plus Package and MSRP with MSRP of $51925. Best price I got was from a dealer in Huntsville for $1500 back of invoice plus any incentives available at time of pick up. The truck just got here but I am going to gamble and wait until Tuesday to pick it up and hope that the June incentives are higher than the May incentives of $1250.

So pretty fully loaded All Terrain MSRP of $51925, my price before incentives is $46,880. Including May incentives it would be $45630 or about 12% off MSRP for the exact truck I wanted

I am self employed and also playing the tax deduction game. My CPA is figuring out what is best for me whether to lease and write off 90% of the payment plus expenses OR buy the truck and depreciate it over a longer period of time. I've already checked with the dealer and the rebates and incentive cash are the same whether I lease or buy. I'll know in the next hour.

I tried to buy a truck today. I get supplier discount. I build the Malibu seats. I also have a Pontiac Grand Prix for trade. The truck stickered at 45,000. They wouldn't budge off 38,900. Seems like a terrible deal. They didn't even really seem to want to work with me until I did a credit app either. They said we haven't met our quota. We're gonna be aggressive in the pricing. Seems they're only aggressive in trying to get me to buy a truck that's too much

Walk. Go to another dealer.

I contacted eight dealers via email, telling them exactly what I wanted, that other dealers were contacted also, and asked for their best price VIA EMAIL. Several called me on the phone and tried the high pressure bit.

The worst one:

Ring Ring.

Hello?

"**BIG VOICE**

" HI, I'm Big Ed, at the Chevy dealership, and I hear you need a truck...etc. " (Basic old-school high pressure car salesman tactics.) He pissed me off in seconds.

I guess following directions isn't his long suit.....He didn't get the sale.

The ones that paid attention tried to give me what I wanted, and I went for the lowest price, out the door. No pressure, no bullshit.

Using the email method, I was in control, not the salesman, and I saved about ten thousand dollars off MSRP for my All Star Edition.

It works.

This x1000000. I don't get why people want to set foot in a dealership these days unless they are going to drop of the check and pick up the keys. Negotiate your price before you set foot on the lot even if to test drive....The dealer loses all the edge when you do this.

2014 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali 5.3 v-8. After a 30 minute meeting we settled at $540/month with $1208 down, supplier pricing, 39 month lease, 12K miles per year, $1850 in rebates and they threw in a bed liner and cargo organizer. Sticker was $53,555 and supplier pricing was $49,990. U S Bank lease rate was 2.35%. I love this truck I'll post pictures soon.

Hey guys, new to the forums and this is my first post. I am hoping to purchase a new truck at the end of the year and was wondering if you think the numbers I came up with will be doable at the end of this year. I'm looking at getting a 2014 Sierra or 2015 F150, which ever one I can get a better deal on.

If I go the GMC route, I want a 2014 Sierra Crew Cab Standard Box SLE 4WD 5.3L V8, with SLE Value Package and Front Cloth Bucket Seats. Do you think I could get this truck for around 37K including TTL? If not, what would be a reasonable price?

I'm leaning towards the end of the year to make the purchase in hopes that there might be some used ones with low miles on them. If not, I will just buy new.

    • Just did an injector/HPFP replacement on Pepper at 192,400 miles; close enough to 200K, RIGHT? (If 200K is considered life end and to me it isn't). But hey, to each his own.    Have never run a catch can on this vehicle. Back side of every valve looked like a new valve spray painted semigloss black. Port walls looked 'neat' (all a normal result of passive EGR via VVT) Zero build up even in AFM cylinders. Just color. It uses no measurable oil and never has.    At 155,000 I put her on E-85 and a borescope of the cylinders at plug change showed very clean pistons and valve faces. The replaced injector tips looked new. (It was the pump piston seal that was leaking). Oh well, have six good backups.    Still gets 28 mpg on gas (highway average) and over 20 (highway) on alky. UOA's look good and runs as good now as it did when I bought it. Better in fact.    What improvement would a Catch Can provide this motor?     And given all this I expect that IF I installed one I'd see some water/gas/oil vapor accumulation. Byproducts of normal combustion.   Having said that, IF my motor used an appreciable amount of oil I'd consider it a useful 'crutch' until I had the situation corrected OR if bore polished, until I junked it or rebuilt it to stave off repeated plug fouling.    I'm not telling you what I THINK. But what its DONE.
    • Love the look. I'm a SCSB lover myself.    Two items. 1.) A spacer changes scrub radius but this also changes when we use wheels of different offsets. A little isn't a big deal. 2.) Steel wheels, alloy wheels all have different thickness. Same effect on the stud and lug nut as a spacer. When hub centric the wheel isn't supported by the stud. It's supported by the hub. The stud just keeps it all together.
    • I had a evap sol go bad a couple weeks ago. . I replaced it.  While watching live data at the time I saw I had some cylinder 1 misfires. No MIL but on live data I could see ~50 at startup and about 70 more after an hour a drive all on cyl 1.  I also noticed that the LTFT were -5% to -15% always.  And that bank 2 is always -3% richer than bank 1. Even across all driving modes, city, highway, etc it’s always 3% richer than bank 1. So I start with the misfire. Swapped coil, plug, and plug wires from 1 to 3. No follow. I got an Injector reseal kit, pulled the D/s injector rail, swapped #1 and #3 injectors, resealed them, reinstalled and retested.  The misfire followed to 3. So I ordered and replaced all 8 injectors, spark plugs, and plug wires. Also replaced the 1 time use fuel pipes under the intake manifold.  Injectors that were in the truck since new were  Part # 12668390.  I replaced them with # 12742701 Got from RockAuto. Pretty certain they’re genuine and the correct ones. I called a friend at a parts store who told me “the 12742701 were the correct superseded part # for the originals I was replacing”. So started truck after replacing all that and it’s running -15 - -30 LTFTs. I reset the fuel trims with GDS2 and drove it for a 60 miles trip each way. There have been no changes in the LTFTs.  I checked if the HPFP was leaking into the crankcase. I removed the pvc and watched the trims. No difference.  I checked the alcohol content and it was at 10%  I’m out of ideas here. Truck seems to run great. Just always rich on the fuel trims.  Anyone with any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.  I ran an injector balance test just for the heck of it and it came back this. I’m confused.  I have gds2 and some other diag tools if anyone knows of anything I should test next.
