Took Delivery on Saturday (Catch Can Question)

I traded in my 2008 extended cab Sierra Z71 for a 2014 crew cab SLT Z71 and couldn't be happier. I was looking at the SLE's and wanted Diamond White but the others on the lot weren't exactly what I wanted. This will be my fourth GMC Sierra and after mulling it over I decided to look for a decent forum to share and read information.

I have read and seen many of you are installing oil catch cans on your 2014's. After doing a fair amount of research, it's clearly evident that this is necessary. Will this void the factory powertrain warranty?

It will only void the warranty if they can prove the can caused it

They are very easy to install. If you can change your oil you can install one

The hardest part is doing a good mount. As far as why the manufactures don't put it on, it's more-so because the EPA and whatever regulatory agencies that oversees emissions compliance has not given a green light on these yet. But the manufactures (doesn't matter Hyundai, Ford, GM, etc) are having gunking issues and they know it. But they can't do anything about it but to chemically clean the valves out for you on your dime.
