Installed flowmaster on my 2014

Put on the flowmaster force II systems w/ 50 series muffler. Was a pretty easy install except we ended up cutting the stock system - about the last 1.5' to the tip in order to remove it. The force 2 system is perfect, exactly what I was looking for, great rumble at cold start that settles into a subtle burble, no drone (very happy about this) I can use Bluetooth no problem, gives it just enough sound to let you know it's a truck w/ a proper v8.

 

Good combo w/ the big air cleaner on the Z71 package.

 

I would highly recommend.

Very little that I can hear, on cruise control drone is non-existant, only time you can hear "drone" in V4 mode w/ the exhaust is under extremely light throttle conditions where you're in V4 mode but not on cruise - basically p***y footing it around and its only at certain speeds. I have to say it is nearly non-existant and i'm fairly surprised to be honest.

I went with the 40 series on my 2014 silverado. And im not sure what the noise is coming from, or why,! Im waiting for my injen intake to arrive im hoping when i install it, all is good and fixed! Anyone think thats gonna fix the sound, or is something else wrong

That noise may be resonance in the cab from the muffler. That's why I ditched the 40 series

So the air intake wont fix the problem!? And basically a waste of money with the 40 series!

I installed a 40 when I got my 04. When I lived in Florida I was happy with it. I wasn't on the highway much. I moved to California, 70% highway now and had to get rid of it. I asked opinions on other setups before I got rid of the 40. I went with MBRP and then to the top of the price list Corsa. I cant guarantee that the 40 is causing the problem because I dont know what the noise sounds like. An intake will likely not fix the noise though. If you have a single outlet 40 series, you can try a resonator.

i had a 40 on my 01 silverado and it was horrible... horrible drone. i chopped the whole muffler off and it sounded exactly the same with no muffler

40's seem to drone. My buddy's 2004 sure did anyways.

Its a short single chamber muffler. It will be loud and drone
