This is my first chevy truck. Well I had a 04 I bought to flip. but this truck is awesome!

My question is when i remote start and its say 30*F outside when i remote start and set temp to auto, will the temp auto turn on the heat?

thanks

The manual says its supposed to automatically turn on heat / cooled seats depending on the temperature. As far as the a/c or heater goes, I know it turns on cool air when its hot. I haven't had cold enough day to try out the remote start to see if works the other way around.

I think you can also change these settings under the vehicle settings on the screen.

Yeah maybe have to leave it it in high heat when i turn it off..

. It doesn't have the roll windows down function does it off remote?

It should be the same as the 900s. If you have automatic climate control, it should heat or cool as needed when remote started. Never heard of the windows down feature...That would be useful assuming nobody would jump in and steal your stuff.

Unfortunately it's not like the GMT-900 I had to ask the same question as the OP a week ago. You have to leave the system in auto when shutting the truck off. When you use the auto start and the system is in auto it will heat or cool as needed. However if you turn the HVAC system off before stopping the truck. When you auto start it the next time it will not do anything. This was different than the 900 series trucks because my 09 would heat or cool no matter if the HVAC system was on or off. Also these trucks do not have the window down feature from the remote.

Sir Dan on some cars if you hold the unlock button down on the remote it will lower all the windows in the car. I guess to let the heat out before you get in. My dad's Nissan maxima had this feature.

I've never had remote start on a vehicle before, and winter is coming! So can someone clarify how I am supposed to do this? I was thinking if I just leave the heat on, it will be on when I remote start it again.

Blue Sierra - you're saying you need to have it in AUTO for it to do anything? I have auto, but I never could figure out what that damn feature wants to do. Everytime I pushed it so far I have the heat on and it kicks the A/C on and starts blowing the air at full blast! Doesn't make sense.

Also how does it know when to bring the heated seats on for remote start then?

If you have the automatic HVAC, leave it on AUTO when you turn your truck off and you should be good to go. If you have manual HVAC, before you turn your truck off at night turn the heat on full blast and leave it that way. If it is cold it should automatically turn on the heated seats as well.

The A/C indicator light has always been illuminated on any vehicle I have ever had with auto climate control, regardless of brand. I think it signifies that the compressor can turn on/off as needed. If I manually turn off the A/C so the light goes out, the unit goes out of AUTO mode. Hope this helps.

Condition/Concern

Some owners may question at what temperature the heated and/or cooled seats

will turn on during a remote vehicle start.

Recommendation/Instructions

If equipped and turned on in the Remote Start personalization menu:

During a remote start, the heated seats will turn on when ambient temperature

is below 50 degs F (10 degs C).

During a remote start, the cooled seats will turn on when ambient temperature

is above 80 degs F (27 degs C).

The Auto feature will turn AC or heat to full blast till it reaches the degree you have set your climate control to, then when it reaches that degree, it will go from full blast to a lower fan speed.
