Adding Navigation to Intellilink / MyLink System

all this is a little confusing. I have the 8" touch screen but no Navigation. All i want to add is the navigation to the touch screen. what do i need?

I have a 2015 Colorado and same as you, just wanted to add navigation to my existing touch screen. I PM'd Kodiakz from this forum. He will send you a replacement GM HMI module and GPS antenna...pay via PayPal. Received mine in a few days and less than an hour you have factory navigation. Depending on the GM vehicle, the HMI module is either located behind the glove compartment or behind the touch screen itself (like my Colorado). A few screws and clips provide access to both locations and the module slides out, new one slides in with GPS antenna slipped under the dash.

Got the 8" screen & nav (had 4.2" screen) yesterday and installed today. It's awesome!

Ok please call me asap 517-488-9224 where did you get kit ? was it all plug and play? did wiring harness match up?? did you do install?? what part numbers?? please please please follow up with me thanks!!!

For those that have done this recently and can remember, for the 2014 Silverado what was the HMI part number? Is it the 23427513 from the start of this thread or is it now 23443747? Or is the later for the 2015+ and won't work with the 2014?

The shark fin is the gps antenna. But the necessary splitter is just not there. We have never ever had a problem with under dash mounted gps antennas on GM vehicles when installing oem nav systems. So far, all the '14 vehicles we have done are working well also.

Question for you Kodiakz, i have to replace my GPS Navigation Antenna Coax Cable. I know the one end goes to the HMI, does the other end got to the shark antenna on the roof or is there a sub antenna under the dash cover. I have a 2014 Silverado LTZ.

Well I got it done in my Colorado...thanks for the tips...it really helped. Unfortunately I did break several bezel clips that decided to come off and remain in the dash. Thought it was no big deal to order a couple of clips but my Chevy parts guy said the clips are part of the bezel so I had to order an entire new bezel...$60 wasn't too bad though. Kodiakz system is working great...I am really pleased now having navigation. The voice control is functional but providing addresses is a challenge for either me or the computer recognition to understand. I too instantly had XM weather and Onstar downloading.

Kodiakz is sending mine now. I also have a 2015 Colorado, any tips on removing the bezel? I have a removal kit but just wanted to know what you may have learned. Where did you start? What would you do different? Any help is appreciated.

First I put painters tape all around the dash surrounding the bezel so the pry tools didn't dig into the dash which is pretty soft. Recommend starting in the upper left and right corners working a tapered removal tool into the gap. As soon as you create a wide enough gap for your fingers, pull the top free. Then work to the bottom corners and repeat same. You should be able to pull the bezel evenly out of the dash once the top and bottom are free. Just in case, my Chevy dealer got me a new one with clips installed for around 60 bucks.

Hopefully this helps you see the clips. I put the antenna behind the screen underneath the change holder in the center of the dash and it has worked great for me there. I planned to tie into the on star GPS antenna but I couldn't get to it easily which is up on the passenger front fender wall above the fuse box.

Almost forgot...my issue was some clips came off the bezel and remained in the dash. Where I screwed up was using pliers to pull them out and I broke the clips being careless. Squeezing them carefully with needle nose pliers would have saved me 50 bucks. I don't know how I could have avoided leaving some clips in the dash to begin with. Good luck...

Installed mine yesterday, just as described. Installation took about a half hour, I had to be slow and gentle with the radio bezel (thanks AJ3), but all worked out great. Navigation, weather and traffic showed up instantly. Very happy, thanks Kodiakz.
