Just got mine today. Install was surprisingly easy. The only issue was dealing with xm to turn on traffic and weather. Their system told them it was not installed. Supervisor overrode and it works great.

Is there a solution for the 4.2" MyLink? I don't use OnStar so the antenna could be hijacked for a nav unit. I have a 2014 RCSB.

Buehler? Buehler?

It does. The one thing I have not sold yet is how to make OnStar deliver navigation directions directly to the system.

It does. The one thing I have not figured out yet is how to make OnStar deliver navigation directions directly to the system. OnStar still sees the vehicle has only having the IO 5 system and will only do turn by turn.

Okay...figured out the XM and OnStar thing. XM handled everything over the phone and traffic/weather/fuel popped in immediately. OnStar was a little longer. One phone call to complain on Saturday. Monday afternoon technical assistance called me and informed me that it required a manual account update on their end. Now my onstar app has two options: one for standard onstar turn by turn and one for send to vehicle navigation.

Buehler? Buehler?

I think you and I are the only two with the 4.2 inch screen.

From what I can tell you would need part number 23176312 and I show price of around 430.00, however I do not know if this part is restricted or not or if you have the required wiring. You also might need to do the navigation upgrade as well as I do not know if the HMI module you currently have would work. You might have to upgrade to the HMI module with navigation they are talking about in this thread.

I apologize in advance for having to use an attachment, but I couldn't get the graph to paste right.

For one who finds the available upgrade options to be a little pricey, would it be possible to go to TIS, download the "with navigation" calibrations for the HMI module and flash it myself?

I haven't actually done this before with a GM product, but it looks like if I get the calibrations listed in the attachment, all I need to do is flash the HMI module and connect an antenna.

What type of antenna connector does the HMI module use?

Am I in the ball park? I know there's some smart guys out there that have done this...

Will appreciate any guidance.

Thank you.

Don't think that will work. The nav HMI module has a GPS antenna connection. The normal HMI module does not.

I like the idea. Clearly non navs are being modded to work-just have to figure out how to conect gps to unit
