No biggie. Efi is what Justin uses as do I. HP has more options for other platforms including Ford stuff as well. HP doesnt offer an auto cal type device yet though like Efi does

dunno for sure on gains for the 2014's, haven't had anyone do a before and after dyno pull, heh...

but with all others, As far as gains go... absolute hp/tq gains are hard to predict... every vehicle is different... even if they're the same and have similar mods... location/weather, fuel used, elevation/altitude, etc etc all play a role... the same holds true for mileage gains - those variables, plus driving habits/style, how much highway vs city driving, etc all make a difference.... you could gain no mpg increase, or you could gain up to about 3 mpg increase... tough to say due to the variables in play... so there is no guarantee of any specific amount of hp/tq or mileage gains...

but I CAN tell you that you will definitely have a very noticeable performance difference/gain over and above the canned preset diablo tunes...
I have gained people anywhere from 12-39hp, and 10-23lb. ft. torque...and 0 to 2 mpg... again, obviously mods, fuel used, etc all played a role in who gained what...
can adjust shift points, shift pressure/firmness, how quick it shifts, torque management, disable dod/afm, speed limiter, remove throttle/WOT delays, fans, throttle/response settings, part-throttle and WOT fueling/timing, knock retard, etc etc. / plus more...

Are you able to adjust the Variable cam timing and what gains, if any have you seen from changing cam events on the 5.3?

there are spark/timing tables for normal timing, and for DOD timing...

but I disable DOD/AFM in a custom tune anyway... so no, I do not make any timing changes for the DOD/AFM timing table... only the regular/normal timing table...

I might be willing to go have a before and after dyno pull done and provide all the data to you for a little package discount. Got a dyno and shop about 25 minutes from the house. Think its $50 for 3 pulls. !!!!

Well... what's the verdict?

;)

Lew, I've got a '14 Silverado with the 5.3 and have been eyeballing your custom tune + Intune package deal. The gains achieved sound great. My only concern, and I guess this is a bit ambiguous, is: does tuning the vehicle do anything to damage the longevity of the vehicle? Like, are the factory settings designed to maintain the integrity of the engine over its life?

Thanks,

TB

So I'm wanting a tuner for the 15 Sierra soon but have lots of warranty left on her and goes into the shop for checkups. I would hate for them to screw up anything up by having a custom tune installed without being able to remove before checkups. But I plan on going with exhaust headers intake for future mods. What tuner would best fit for me.?

With diablo's tools, you can always restore the original backup stock tune to the truck first before going to a dealer for anything and you'll be fine.. they can't tell what was changed.

With the AutoCal, so long as you return to stock, you will be just fine, flash counter is not an issue. Your exhaust/headers/intake will probably cause some heartache at the dealer.

I'm pretty much sold on the Diablo Intune 2030 + one of Lew's custom tunes. I read through your site about creating the logs to send for you to custom tune, just curious if adding info on all mods added to the truck + these logs helps to fine tune everything or what all goes into the custom tune?

The ability to back out to factory for service seems essential since I only have 8k miles on the truck... Does this allow you to revert to stock and then back to the custom tune as often as needed?

Thanks in advance for input and hoping to get the tuner+custom as soon as possible.
