1st time Dipping Emblems

Here's my first attempt at "Dipping".

I used the True Metallics Aluminum.

I was a little worried about the color matching my truck and as you can tell it matches pretty darn good. Some of the pics it looks dark and some light but so does the truck.

Also my other baby in the driveway. Ohh and my wife's turd.

Nice work. Thanks for sharing the photos. I dipped my front bowtie earlier today.

Looks great, I've got the plastidip and pearlizer for mine, just need to make the time to do it.

Looks awesome! Did you tape off the back logo the same way or just a box and tear around the logo? The front was so well taped... any tips other than.. "Take your time"?

Thanks Guys!!

Swazi,

I taped the whole thing and used a x-acto to trim around the chrome outline because I still wanted the outline and I thought it would be easier than peeling after the dip. The front and back were both done the same way.

I think the color is close enough to try the fender mouldings and those I will use the glossifer to try and get a little shine outta them.

I don't really know being this was my 1st attempt at dipping.

But if I was to assume........ it would work great until you wanted to or had to remove the dip because it would want to tear at all of the intersecting mesh areas.

But I don't know maybe someone on here has more experience with Plasti-Dip can chime in.
