Tow Mirrors?

Has anyone installed/seen the new trucks with tow mirrors on them? I know it was a popular add on to the GMT900s and it surely wasn't just for the look. I have them on my 900 and have gotten so used to them that if I upgrade I'd have to have them again. Just curious to see what it looks like

Well tow mirrors are now going to have an extra stud without the hole in the door for DL3/8 equipped trucks. So there is a problem

And the door is reinforced. Sadly tow mirrors are a buy it initially or you don't get them.

Hopefully the aftermarket will respond. There will definitely be a market for us non-max trailer option guys.

My local parts GM guy says GM has i kit in the works but no date is avail yet.

That would be surprising as GM has a bulletin someone posted somewhere on this site saying the retrofit isn't possible. Maybe they realized that was absurdly stupid and came up with a way to do it safely?

i sure hope so... after coming from the 900's towing mirrors the tiny useless mirrors on these trucks are my only complaint

My dealer almost dropped the ball on my order which would have been a deal breaker. The order got passed off from my salesman to the inventory manager to actually put the order in after we built it the way I wanted. The inventory manager missed the camper mirrors because on an LTZ they are a no cost option.

I need the camper mirrors to see around my enclosed trailer and seeing how they don't recommend changing them after the fact it would have been a problem. Luckily Jennifer from GM customer service on here sent me a build sheet and I noticed the RPO was missing. My dealer promptly got it fixed so if all goes well I should get to see them in person in a few weeks.

I just installed a set of Fit System towing mirrors on my 2014, easy install, had to drill a hole for the 4th bolt but was no problem, the place for the hole is already there. Only issue I have is the mirrors came with turn signals built in (my truck did not come with turn signals in the mirrors) and I would like to find out how to get them working without a major wiring project.

Do the tow mirrors also fold in like the standard mirrors do?

Yes they fold like the standard. There are both power fold and manual fold mirrors out there. The reinforcement is already in the door on my'15 the hole is just not drilled out but is pre marked.
