planted bad reviews?

I have been seeing a lot of negative posts from new accounts with very little posts. If you look at some of these accounts' posts, they are all negative.

What is the possibility that the rash of negative posts lately are planted? just a thought....

To clarify: I am not saying ALL of them, but I suspect that a few of them could be.

Without looking at the posts you are talking about... How about they are.... people who signed up to voice their opinion because something aint right.....

I have joined recently ... and by my handle, you can assume I'm new to GM trucks. I use to buy Fords until the body style change and I want nothing to do with Ford. I've bought 6 new Dodge trucks and some used ones too. Some of the things I see GM do just seams like they could have done a lot better with almost no effort. By the way , I did get a GMC 1500 SLE. I was looking for a regular cab 4x4, trailer and snow package in a lght color and 5.08 rear end. The dealer still hasn't made delivery yet even though I found them the truck they couldn't locate a couple weeks ago after a few weeks of them looking (supposedly). I just thought it easier to find it for them and speed things up. So anyway.. amongst the misleading brochure and internet information, there are also designs that don't make much sense . I have brought them up elsewhere.

Just sayin... Sometimes you have to wonder.. why the heck did they do that!

I think a lot of the complaints on this forum are that different people have different opinions of what is good or not so good. For example some say the Goodyear SR A tires are crap. I have two trucks with these same tires and both ride quiet, and ride and drive smooth with no vibration, so I think they are fine for me. Some people say the Bose radio system sucks but I like it. Some complain about the FM radio system. Both of mine work great for me but I live in a Metro area where reception is good. Both of my trucks have been perfect so far. But if someone says that the power sliding back window broke and the dealer does not have a fix for it, then I think that is a legitimate complaint. But just because that window broke and if a Gm dealership fixes it correctly, then that does not mean the truck is trash because it broke in the first place..... just my opinion.

Exactly! I made the same comment in another thread. Truck will not start, rear sliding window doesn't work, seat moves around = Problems. The Bose doesn't have enough bass to stop my heart, my truck won't run a 13 second quarter mile, these tires are no good for the Baja 500 = Personal dislikes.

This goes both ways too guys! Some folks rave about these trucks being the best thing since sliced bread and that's a joke too. Either some of them haven't owned or spent much time in any other brand truck or just a diehard to GM. I have owned all of the big three and I had the best luck with GM overall. I had things on my F-150 that I liked, I loved my Hemi(hated the tranny!) and love my new 2014 Silverado(just wish I would have waited for the 6.2 is all). No one makes the best or perfect truck. Each brand does something better than the other. Just look around and spend some time in the others to see for yourself. Just saying...

Think you mean 3.08 not 5.08.

I'm certainly guilty of being extremely pleased with my truck (and I'm not laughing) I've looked at every brand especially when I made this purchase.

I will be the first one to call a POS, just that. I recently went thru this will a car (GM product) had it 8 months and got rid of it with no loss on trade in.

I personally did take my time, I was leaning toward a Raptor until I drove it. POS would not get out of it's own way. You couldn't give me a Dodge, they are the ugliest IMO.

Well In I spent about a year in a new Dodge Ram Sport a few years ago and could not trade it in fast enough. In 2008 I bought a new Ford King Ranch and I disliked it even more than the ram. Nothing but problems out of either of those. But I have owned a New 89 Silverado, a new 2002 Silverado, a new 2005 Duramax Silverado HD, a new 2010 Silverado and now two 2014 Silverados' without the first problem out of either. But I do agree, no vehicle is perfect in every way. I just have to look to see which I like the best and that would be the vehicle with less things that I consider a problem for me.

GM fanboy I see. :D Me too I've strayed, but I always come back.

Merry Christmas All and a Blessed New Year.

For those posting problems or no problems (esp. the new posters) it would help greatly if your type of truck and some location showed up in your post tag. Then we can gain some insight to is it Chevy, GMC , both etc....north, south etc...and it adds creds to your post.

I look at the merit of the complaint regardless of manufacturer. A lot of people complain just to hear themselves about the most minor thing. On the one Cadillac forum I am on thus one guy is trying to get his CTS lemoned because the sunroof leaks water.... and his local dealer is retarded. Did a hose for the drain come off or get plugged.... you bet it did.... will he try and get it fixed.... nope. So its easier to whine about it online. Seat movement.... whatever. But vibrations, oil usage, options that blatantly don't work or what have you get noticed a little more. And yes the frequency of these problems is likely very small.

Frankly, I think the the trolls are obvious enough. The SR-As are not considered good tires by a majority of the trucking public. Ford owners, GMC owners, anyone. Go to any site and you'll get a million negatives reviews. But I've had no issues whatsoever with mine and we've had close to 20 inches of snow in Philly already and I have off roaded hunting, driving thru corn-rows, muddy fields, etc multiple times....with zero issues whatsoever.

On the other hand, my only complaint is what I consider very poor gas mileage. Something I see very little folks complaining about here. See what I mean?

No truck is perfect-no driver is perfect. I think it's that simple.

I doubt very many, if any negative posts are planted. I also participate on a couple of Harley Davidson forums. If you were shopping and wanted to check out Harleys by reading these forums, you would never buy one. Some folks just like to bitch and have unreasonable expectations. Couple that with the fact that very few guys say, "I love my trouble free, great performing, great looking bike." it's the same here. If anyone has a problem others think the sky is falling!

Four of the guys I ride with bought new F 150s this year. Three Lariats and one Platinum all with Eco boost engines. They are nice trucks, really nice trucks. I am a die hard Chevy guy. I bought a '14 Silverado 4wd LZT and it's at least as nice as those Fords. It's so far trouble free and I don't expect any in the future The body is so solid and quiet. Good ol' Chevy V-8s are well proven. I've been riding Harleys and driving Chevys for 40 years now. I base my expectations for the truck on past experiences. These new ones are light years ahead of the "classics" from years past in every way. They are so much more dependable, durable, and comfortable than ever before. My Silverado is more like a luxury car with a bed, but it will haul more and tow more than the old ones ever thought of. Still some guys just have to bitch. I had an ol' lady like that.

I edited my profile to more credible.

I'm definitely not a troll and you'll definitely find a lot of positive posts from me...I might be the most vocal against the SRA's at the moment, it certainly doesn't help that I was stuck without 4wd for almost two weeks in the midst of the snowiest/coldest December we've had here in Northern Minn in years. We're upwards of 50" of snow at this point, 36" of it coming in one storm.

Had I been told to swap the tires right off, I'd be fine with that...but I wasn't. I bought an All Terrain package vehicle with tires marketed as All Terrain and was told by the dealer that the tires were good All Terrain Tires...why would I swap them after being told that? I wish I had, it would have been cheap.

After I complained about them I hear "yeah, they aren't great in snow" according to the salesguy who previously told me otherwise and "those tires aren't half of what a bridgestone is...terrible tires" according to the parts manager.

Wouldn't it piss you off to have someone tell you one thing and then something totally different once you complain, as if he never said the first thing?

I learned how to drive on a beat up '64 GMC pickup, my dad has always driven a Suburban or Yukon XL, I've owned 4 GM vehicles in a row...I don't think its unfair to b!tch about GM putting some crappy rubber on their $48K vehicles and telling people they're good tires.
