lift vs level

I ran 1.5" and 2" wheel spacers with no problems. Everyone says get hubcentric spacers to avoid any shake or vibration. Mine were not hubcentric. Had a slight shake but I am pretty sure it was tire balance.

What was. The name of the kit the dealer installed.. ??

I found out the name was supreme suspensions. If you Google them they have a downloadable catalog.

Today is the day the lift goes on. I will attach pictures later. Anyone have an opinion/experience on Cooper ATP tires? Its either those or the BFG TA. I know the BFG's but if the Coopers are good i'll save myself $150 and get those.

Well the lift is on!! RC said 3-4 hours and we did it in 2. One of the rear U bolts that came with the kit had to have a dye run over it to clean up some extra paint or powder coat, but other than that it was clean and simple! Now to decide on the tires to fill up the room.

Measurements before: Driver side front 36.25 Rear: 38.5

Measurements after: Driver side front: 39 Rear 39.5

Update. I ran my Truck in auto 4wd for a while today and the vibration is pretty much non existent. I over exaggerated in my last post. It's more of a very slight noise when in auto 4wd. Prob just the front shaft turning I'm hearing. Which is perfectly normal IMO.

Just leveled it out with the RC 2.5" front only. Also removed lower air dam. Wheels and tires to come. It's parked next to my buddies 07 classic 4x2 with 6" RCD and 315/70r17

2" front spacer from Summit Engineering and 2.25" rear block from Pro Comp. $155 total (Ebay). We did the install on a lift which was nice, first side took an hour second about 20 minutes, the rear blocks took about 30 minutes total. Two guys and the right tools made it very easy. I wanted to maintain some factory rake. Ride quality is the same and gas mileage in frigid WI seems to be the same. Rear end appears a bit higher in picture than in person. Front sits at 38.5' and rear is 40".

Hey guys I have been looking through the topic and its helped me out a lot at deciding between a rc level or a 3" spindle lift. Would a 285/70/18 tire fit in a level or would I have to run the 3" spindles?

The diameter will fit but the section and tread width are getting kind of close. I have 275/70R18 and they just fit.

Check post 12 and down for pics.

Haha so then I guess 33x12.5x18 with a level kit is out of the question then! Unless wheel spacers come into play?

I wouldn't say out of the question, but don't expect to have a very tight turning radius ;-) My 275/70's are 33.2" diam but are only 11" wide.

Haha alright. And I have been getting quotes all from one place for tires and why would 35x12.5x18 tires be cheaper than 33x12.5x18? The qoutes they have been giving me are very confusing unless smaller tires cost more than bigger tires now n days. In that case, hook me up with some 37's and a 8 inch lift! Haha

But for real do you understand why at all?

That is weird. I guess it comes down to overstock vs. demand, vs. availability.

Thats what iI was thinking too because they are both out of stock for those tires but not for the larger ones. Just talked to a guy from discount tire and he said he will beat any price they gave me so we will see!

    • Are you going to take long trips in it?  If so, try out the seats in the various trims. For me the lower trim level seats were not comfortable.
    • I have a 2016 that I bought new and still own. I'm around 129,000 miles now. The biggest problem was a transmission failure about 2 years ago around 95000 miles. No warning, just failed while driving down a back road. A reman GM transmission installed and it's been fine ever since. A few other minor problems along the way. I am in no hurry to replace it. It's been paid off long ago and do plan on driving this as long as I can.   I will admit I am leery about all the additional electronics in the newer models and feel that it is just more potential problems. I think there's actually more than I would have wanted in this 2016 but so far so good. I think even if something major like lifter failure happened, it would still be cheaper to at worst, drop a new engine in than buy a new vehicle.
    • I’ve own several successful businesses. I’ve bought homes and lived in different states. I’d witness several generations buy homes and survive in different economic circumstances. You get awful sippy when people have different experiences than you do. You live a life. I’ve lived a life. It seems our experience has been different. You can point out generalized statistics. Some people learn how to thrive when the odds are against them. Living in different states does make a difference in a persons quality of life and economic outcomes and opportunities. That’s a fact Jack. It’s my truth, my life. Hard work and long hours the right environment made my families life easier. And yes moving to a different state increased the odds of that happening. Stats are generalized. People who thrive don’t make excuses. They beat the odds. Others get mad and point to those statistics. I guess that’s you. My post pointed out how you helped people beat the odds. Somehow your panties got in a wad. Go figure.
    • Good question, I don't remember for sure but I believe it was the HD. I will check and get back to you.
