If it is anything like the previius model yoy need the wheel with buttons and a correct clock spring. You had to make a connector and run two wires as well. As for the 2007-2013 trucks no programing was beccessary but who knows about the current.

Just like I never saw the point in heated grips on my motorcycle, I see even less of a need for a heated steering wheel. It is the back of your hands that get cold. The palms will warm up the wheel from the warmth of your hands. JMO

I have a heated steering wheel and it really is pretty useless.. Only gets lukewarm.. Not worth the time effort and money

Do you have a 2014 1500? The one in mine gets very warm, and a nice touch for those sub freezing days and a leather sterring wheel.

my 2007 escalade felt good in those single digit days. To bad remote start does not activate it

No I have a GMT900. They might be better in the k2's.

I mean I exaggerated a little bit, it gets warm but not nearly as warm as I'd like. And I also agree with who ever said it should come on with remote start. Would be nice to get in a truck with a warm wheel

The backs of your hands get cold on a motorcycle for sure. But in a car, it's the wheel itself that is cold. The heated steering wheel is a great feature. I didn't care about it at first, but I've been loving it in my Denali.

I'm reading on Tapatalk so I'm not seeing signatures or profiles so without knowing where y'all are from, I'll tell you in Montana a heated steering wheel, even if just lukewarm would be a simple pleasure. And when the steering wheel is -20F no, your palms don't warm it up, it freezes your palms! Granted, I'm wearing gloves when it is below +25 to +30F but still, I take the rides with heated seats over the one without and I'd opt for heated wheel, even with gloves on those cold arse days.

Must be something wrong with yours. Mine gets nice and toasty, the temp does taper off, nothing that concerns me. I think that is how it was designed. Guessing here.

I ride BMW's and they have heated grips but they also have hand guards and that keeps the wind from the back of your hands. Heated steering wheel is nice when getting into a cold vehicle.

Have a question what about swapping a 2014 steering wheel into say a 2010 truck?
