The salesman just sent me a message telling me the product is called Gatorhyde. Time to google...

My two cents, make sure the scratches are not bare metal put the rug in. I just hate leaving my ride with any one. Something can always happen then here we go. Just my two cents

take it all day.. regardless of the type. I'm sure the dealer isn't vendors that are too sloppy. Return the bed rug.

I would take it all day long but I would relay the concern about the bedrug not properly fitting.... New truck =Perfect. they absolutely owe you compensation if it's not. Even a 3rd party bedliner is way more compensation than due. I would take it and run!

I agree. I just looked up the shop that would be installing it and I don't have a whole lot of confidence in them. I think I'm just going to take the truck to my own body shop and pay them the hour of labor to fix it. It's not worth the headache or risk.

OMG first thing I did when I bought the truck I have now is scratch the hell out of it taking it camping, it's a truck not a showpiece, then I got the linex overrails and never looked back, that stuff is beast. I'll be putting it on my next purchase as well.

At least have them pay for the bedrug. Dont eat it all.

I learned on this forum that I qualified for $400 worth of free accessories as part of the Business Choice program. The MSRP of the Rug was $450, so I only paid $82 (including tax) for the Bed Rug. I could have them refund the $82 or maybe I'll ask for some more accessories at dealer-cost.

Line x has a lifetime warranty if what they offer is comparable I would do it and return the rug

Like others, I'd gladly take it. Bed has to be scuffed up to install bedliner anyway.

If your BedRug doesn't have a soft underside then they didn't give you a "real" BedRug. The BedRug has a closed-cell foam underneath that is shaped to fit tightly into the grooves in the bed floor (maybe they gave you a "BedTred" which is stiffer material without a backing, similar to a drop-in liner). The BedRug is mounted with double-sided tape that won't stink correctly to a spray-in liner so I would not do both.

I may be in the minority here but I would go with the BedRug over a spray-in any day of the week. They protect your bed from scratches and dents, they are soft to climb into and out of, and you can't stain the things. I really hate that they used "rug" in the name since it makes people think of carpet. The liner is NOTHING like carpet and works great.

I would still have the body shop touch up the scratches to make sure they are not down to bare metal. After that install the BedRug (if it is in fact real) and go -- you won't be disappointed!

While I was at the dealer, I was also picking up a Bed Rug they ordered for me. I've already paid for it.

I'm considering taking the dealer up on their offer for the spray-in liner and using the Bed Rug over it. The Bed Rug doesn't have a soft underside, so I think it's likely going to scratch my bed anyway.

I believe it to be a real Bed Rug. I ordered material samples of the Bed Rug and Bed Tred directly from the manufacturer. The bottom side has the foam you mentioned, but it's not perfectly smooth and it is a little scratchy.

Now that I've had some time to chew on this a little longer. I'm going to lean on the dealer to allow me to go to Line-X. if they refuse, I'll just do it on my own. I'm going to try to use the Bed Rug on top of the Line-X. It's just a matter of finding the right velco to stick to the Line-X ;)

The dealer agreed to pay $300 towards a Line-X. That's good enough for me. I'm going to try to use the Bed Rug in conjunction.

some of the better body shops can get color match spray in bed liner.

I almost did it on my last truck... It was a lot of money if I remember right.

Got Line-X installed this morning as well as window tint on the front doors. The Line-X is thicker/tougher that I remembered it. I'd give the installers a B rating. My whole truck is covered in dust from sanding and there are a few imperfections in the liner material but overall I'm pretty satisfied for only $170 out of my pocket.
