I haven't added the foot well lights yet but though I would share this.

 

I ran the Leers interior cap light into the black box under dash by simply pushing the + into the slot where the thicker grey wire is. Then I zip tied it to another wire do it doesn't move or fall out. One of the reasons for doing this is now I can tap into that extra wire incase sh*t hits the fan then I don't have a mess to fix. I plan on tapping the footwell lights to my extra wire. Also needless to say I'll have a lot more room to work with.

This is my favorite mod so far. I never really noticed just how nice it was to have footwell lighting in my 02 yukon until I got this truck and it didn't have footwell lighting already in it!

I would, however, suggest purchasing a few extra. I would only suggest it becuase since white is so difficult to match, sometimes, you will get a pod that may be slightly different in color, which if you are as OCD as me, you will be driven up a wall. Also once you get one of those little pods and figure out how nice of light they put out for their size, you'll find other places to put them. For me that was the step plates in the bumper and under the hood.

I used one per placement. Driver, passenger, and one per side in the rear. And for the driver I placed it on the footwell air vent. Passenger I placed it all the way in the back, just before the wall

Awesome! Did you order a few extras? I ordered 16 when I got mine so I would have extra for other placements. Like I may put one in each wheel well and activate them with the cargo lights for extra light around the truck when working at night and incase if I ever have a blow out since I do a lot of highway driving

I ran the wire from the driver to the passenger, then from the passenger I ran the wire to the rear and tucked it under the center console. If you pull out the stuff in your center console, then pull up the small rubber mat, there are a few Philips screws that you can remove and then have easier access to the wire under the console. I personally grounded each of the front wells seperately. Then I grounded each of the footwells together under that little plastic cover that leads under the console becuase I didn't feel like running more wires than I had to. So the only wire running is for the positive wire.

I installed LED footwell lights today in my silverado, was a pain in the a** but i was able to locate the gray wire in the black box next to the brake and tap into it (this part was the only pain because I had trouble getting the t-tap and pliers up in there to close the tap on the wires). Didn't bother trying nitro's way, to much wire running for me but thanks for all the info everyone!

Does any have pictures or specific location details that you must tap into under the driver side dash? I would like to install my lights today, without making a bunch of trial and errors.

Yeah I tried that but I don't have a single gray wire there, other than a thick black wire, and it's the only thick wire. The closest gray wire there is like a puke yellow, greenish which is thin maybe a 18 gauge.

open up your dome light panel and check the color of the wires that go into the 3 buttons that turn them on/off/door. I know you want to get down to it but your going to maybe do some trial and error, with those color wires and tap into them on the pillar. Or if you have a electric tester then you can test which wire gets power when the door opens and then tap into it.
