Small light pods from XKglow.com

This would cover you if you only want to do the footwell

http://www.xkglow.com/6_LED_Ultra_Bright_Motorcycle_Light_Pod_2pc_Pack_p/xk084001-4.htm

I talked to Mike1220 about this via PM, and just to let others know if you order this 4 piece kit, it does not come with any wires, you have either use your own wire, or I complained and they sent me some wire for free.

I just got done installing these pods in my truck, one per footwell front and rear, they look good.

Yea man, sorry to hear about that. I hadn't realized that they have changed the kit since I ordered mine. The pods are the same but the wire set up is different. They now have them set up so you can hook them up easier on a motorcycle like they are intended. Which makes them not as ideal for the way we are using them but they should still be easy. Were they?

Well the wire they sent me came with the connector clips, so I did connect two of them together and then cut the rest of the clips off and used my own butt-splice connectors. It was still an easy install overall.

Hi,

Wanting to instal radar to fuse box or hard wire on my 2014 Silverado Z71. After looking at the new wiring design...lots of wires, data cables etc. compared to my 05 & 89! Now, the add a circuit seems to be the easiest...once I would locate a fuse that powers up with accessories. BUT! The new fuses are 3 bladed & the add a fuse is 2, this won't work right?? I do believe the smaller ones may have been 2 bladed...& that option may work...

I've watched the videos you guys posted & great info....Thanks! Help!

PS I even found the one under the black box, but decided to stop, don't wanna jack w the warranty or have to remove stuff if service is needed. I'm old school & it is getting a bit tougher to doc it yourself. Good site here, just signed up.

Next is some freakin LED lights to floor & engine as they've fallen short here for some reason.

Under the dash by the brake pedal there is a black cover. You can follow the directions at the beginning the the thread below. Its the same color wire. I also did red LED that are hooked to dash lights that dime with the dash as well.

Got the footwell and assist step lights done today wired to the solid grey wire. Kids got in the truck and didn't know they turned the LEFT turn signal on, and when I went to see the lights in the dark, with only the left turn signal on, they pulse. The normal dome lights don't pulse after the mod though and it's the same wire. Anyone else mistakingly find this out or could it be I did something wrong?

Instead of splicing into the wire, I just pushed my wire into the small space the original grey wire goes in to, kinda like how the fog on with brights are jumped just by pushing in the diode.

Probably done something wrong. Possibly tapped into the running lights wire instead of the dome light? Good luck.

This is what I did. Looks like other people used same wire. Everything functions as described by others with coming on with dome light button, unlock/lock/door open/fading, aside from the blinker anomaly. Since the lights will be out while driving, it won't be an issue. Have you tested your truck to see if it happens?

Mine works fine. Seems like ChevyTrucks_95 had the same problem. May want to reach out to him. The color of the wires in your pic looks a little off so I can't be sure that's the right one.

This is the wire I tapped in to.

I never did figure it out. I first hooked my lights up using the solid grey in the driver side A pillar and noticed when I unlocked the truck at night it was pulsing. So I undid the connection and tried hooking up to the solid grey under the dash and the same thing. I used others pictures of their setup and mine looked exactly like theirs. I have removed them all since I was unsure if any damage would be done.

Well son of a bitch I guess I was wrong! It's so subtle I had to get up under there to look right at the leds. I never noticed because the slim chance of having my turn signal and dome lights on at the same time. Mike1220 what's your take on this?

Yeah Tim, I don't plan on having a blinker on while dome lights are on either, so I'm not worried about it. The wire colors are the same as yours, picture didn't capture well. The wire next to the solid grey is a grey with blue stripe. I'm certain I'm on the correct wire, I think its just something that's unavoidable.

I am looking to add light to light up my step bars and wanted to just tap a fuse vs splicing into wires. I reviewed the instructions booklet and could not find out what fuse the interior dome lights use. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what fuse I can tap into so that the lights come on with the interior dome lights.
