couldnt you just tap into the RAP like you would do with a stereo for the amp remote wire?

I didn't drill I installed led first in the interior and I just got done doing the step leds. Thanks for the tip about the grommet by the brake but there's another one almost on center on the drivers feet and I ran my cable through there. Took me about 30 minutes to the do the lights on step, I had already Wired them together. The only thing I needed to do was mount them and connect the cable.

Which lights did u use? They look bright but not overpowering. Mind sharing which light brand they are?

So just to be clear it doesn't matter solid grey vs grey/green to tap into

If your tapping into the ones on the driver side panel that comes down from the ceiling then tap into the thicker solid grey wire. There's 2 solid grey wires up there and the thicker one is the correct one. As far as tapping by the brake pedal I'm not sure where that grey wire lands, but you can probably follow it from up there.

The only thicker wire in the panel looks black to me... Roughly 18 ga? Is that the one?

I doubt it. Mine was grey and is just a little thicker then the other wires. Maybe 1 gauge thicker. But to check just pop the dome control panel off and check which wire colors are there.

It took me 2 tries, I first tapped into the grey/green and the leds weren't getting full power and wouldn't turn off after a few seconds of the doors being closed. Then I found that thicker grey wire and tried it and everything worked perfect.
