I have bought two Mexico built 2014. BOTH ARE COMPLETE TURDS! Wish I still had my 07, and 12 back.

#3 Silverado. I found 6 assault rifles behind the rear seat and 45 kilos of cocaine hidden under the bed....... I think this truck was supposed to go to someone else. Things are probably not going so well for THAT guy right now.

Meanwhile, Rob Ford has been at my house ever since my truck was delivered. It's been almost a month. I mean, he's cool and all but he's sort of out staying his welcome. And the guy sweats...a lot. Kinda nasty.

Wow! I missed that option on checklist. NOW THAT IS WHAT I CALL AN ALLSTAR EDTION. :M16:

Get a double

I have a double cab and my leaf spring says "made in Mexico" painted in bright yellow, half the length of the leaf spring. IS the truck built in mexico or are just the leaf springs made in mexico.

On your window sticker it says 51% parts made in mexico and 40% is US/canadian. Where the 9% is from is anyone's guess. But its all put together in FW IN. Double cabs and reg cabs atleast

Are all the engines and transmissions made in the U.S.? I've noticed so far that the frame on my Double Cab was made in Canada and some wiring harnesses are made in Mexico. Tires were made in Canada too.

My 2003 Ranger had leaf springs made in Mexico too. It also had a German engine and a French transmission. It was a great truck.

Crap my 2014 Sierra Denali was built in Mexico. Well that's better than China at least.

All crew cabs are assembled in Mexico.

No they aren't. About 90% are, but every once in a while you'll see a crew cab 1500 built at Flint. With that said, my hecho en mexico High Country, and my previous '09 Mexican built 1500 crew are both better built from a fit and finish standpoint than my Flint built 2500HD.

Issues wise, my HC had radio reception issues and the recalls done, other then that it's been a great truck with just over 2,000 miles on it now.

Rumors

I stopped by my GMC dealer today and bs'ing with my salesman friend when this guy walks in. I nodded to Phil and said "here's a customer". Nope, he's the transport driver and who does the vehicle check ins? Younger driver (in his 30's and HD owner) and I ask him where he came from, Flint he says, left last night. What you got? a full load of HD pu's. I asked him where the 1500's they make in Flint are and he said they recently started making more in Flint since they went to 3 shifts but HD's rule. He claimed rumors are the plant in Mexico, GM wants to close, want 2 truck plants, Ft Wayne and Flint and the Cadillac SRX goes to Spring Hill, TN.

My HC has so many Mexico parts the navi has an accent when giving directions. [emoji12]

But it's still a great truck overall at 4000 miles. No major issues.

Howdy neighbor! What color is your HC?

What's up. It's black. I needed to wash it today with great weather, but the yard won the time.
