looks good so far

Thanks!

Careful with that paper seal, had to do my diff fluid twice after the first seal failed and leaked. Not a cheap investment after that!

Was it a Felpro?

Nice work; keep the photos coming. After you powerwash the frame do you intend to apply something like PQR or Rust Bullet?

I was going to sand it down, and primer and paint it, but I've decided to get a gallon of the Chassis Saver paint instead. It's supposed to be good stuff, and doesn't require as much prep work.

Installed my new spark plugs and wires today. Most of the old wires broke off by the plug as soon as I went near them with my fingers. I hardly even touched them, and they broke. Needless to say the truck runs a lot smoother now at idle, and rev.

Picked up a gallon of the Chassis Saver today. It's pretty pricey at $125 for the gallon, but everything I've read about it says it's real good stuff.

Holy crap, someone forgot to read about prevenitive maintenance prior to you owning the truck. I have 130k miles on factory wires and don't look bad at all. Those plugs look like they could be original too...wow!

Yea I'd say. The sad thing is that I'm only the 2nd owner. I know it sure does idle smoother now. Edited by Daryl Z71

Once your done with this truck I think you'll have a tank. There are times I seriously wonder how my truck is still going so strong. Use, abuse, fix and maintain and still she fires right up and can still hit 20mpg on the highway.

I think so too. The motor is still strong even with all the miles that are on it. The trans shifts decent, and even better at full temperature, and the rear end works like it should without any weird noises. I don't mind the thing at all. Edited by Daryl Z71

Took the evap canister apart to check out why I had the engine light on for it. Sure enough it was full of dirt.

Yeah that's typical lol. You can clean it and free up the solenoid but you saw the location. It will plug again for sure, haha

I cleaned it, but haven't checked to see if it's working yet. That other small piece in your write up, is that the part that's located above the transmission?
