is that a 4 or 6 inch lift with the 35s? Also how are you liking the tires?

Prova 20x10s on 305/55 Toyo AT2s (this is my cheap winter setup)

Spring/summer/fall setup is on order and is 22x10 American Force Grip ss6 on 33x12.5x22 Toyo AT2. Pics will come when mounted hopefully in march.

Nice truck man.

I just went to the tire place today and they recommended the 305/55R20 Toyo AT2's for my truck on a 2.5" RC level kit. A few questions for you. Any rubbing? Do you need to re-calibrate your speedo/odo? I have 3.42 gears, would I need to change them to run this tire more effectively? Do you just have a level kit also? Thanks!

I rub a little but my wheels are x10s and my track width was widened from the 4.5" Zone lift kit. You don't need to recalibrate the speedo as it's off only by a fraction and your 3.42s are fine for that tire as it's relatively light as these tires go. And thanks.

Thanks, I appreciate the information.

I finally figured out how to get pics on here. This is a 3.5" lift with 305/55r/20 on 20x10 rims. BFgoodrich KO2s. They rub slightly at full lock in reverse.

It's a Fabtech 4.5. Love the tires ride good and wear good. They have great road manners in all conditions

So this is kind of on topic off topic. I know there are a lot of wheel enthusiasts on this thread so I'm going to ask.

I ordered rim/tire package online. Long story short...they sent the tires mounted and balanced but forgot to put the TPSM in the tires. I had already paid for them and they shipped them separately and told me to send them the install invoice. Still kind of defeats the purpose/incentive of buying a tire rim package online that's "bolt on ready".

So, tire shop scratched 3 of my 4 brand new rims. The manager says he knows a guy that can airbrush it and fix them. Has anyone had rims fixed like this? Will the fix last?

Thanks for any info. I apologize if this is in the wrong area. Just been on this thread a little recently.

This could get messy.

I'd ask for a full refund, send them back and ask them to send them the right way as you purchased them.

airbrush them? Hell no. I highly doubt that "fix" will hold up over time. Ask them to replace the damaged ones

When I first installed the wheels I assumed the TPSM I paid for were installed. I didn't get around to going to a tire place until a week or two after installing the wheels/tires to have them synced to my truck. That's when the tire shop told me there were no TPSM. Then I contacted the online store I purchased the rims/tires from. They had me email them a pic of the valve stems. They could tell from the pic the valvestems were not their TPSMs. That's when they informed me they F@cked up and sent me TPSMs and told me they would reimburse me for the install.

Their return policy says once rims are driven on they can't be returned.

I guess if you buy online take them straight to a tire shop to check for TPSM if you require a tool.

Who did you buy from?

Either they bite the bullet and send you a new set, as how were you to know they didn't have TPMS, or the installer buys you new wheels they scratched. That is what they have insurance for.

Discount Tire scratched my wheels, and they made it right by paying for the tires I just bought (or they said they'd buy me new wheels).

The shop that scratched them owes you new wheels, end of story. No cheap repair will be good enough or last. You spent big money on wheels and there are plenty of shops that appreciate that and can mount tires without scratching your wheels. I did mine locally for that reason exactly. I wanted to deal local just in case something like this came up. Sorry to hear but I wouldn't stop until they replaced the wheels they messed up.

Anyway, here's a teaser of my new shoes. Method NV 0 offset with 295/70/17 RT's.

I spent $2500 on wheels and tires from

Anthem Off Road.

The tire shop contacted them to see about a fix. Anthem told them any generic gloss black touch up paint will work. Apparently that's how they fix wheels that have been damaged during shipping.

I like the rims. I just can't recommend them due to the way they do business.

The local tire shop says the rims are not damaged structurally. It was just the finish. So they just want to follow what Anthem said and use generic touch up paint to fix them.

    • Maybe, but it seems he is the only one that has backed up data to prove what he is stating. I think he is doing this more because he enjoys it and wants to get the information out to us. He's got the knowledge and access to the proper equipment and having the funds doesn't hurt.  I would love to do what he is doing and would do it if and when I hit the Powerball.  I'm not a Tribologist by any means but love to learn what I can.   I would bet there would be doubting people out there if a completely independent lab with high quality work and highly respected in the automotive industry, put out information like this.  The world can't be pleased, one just has to take the information that they are given, do more of their own research to find actual lab data to back up what they are trying to figure/find out.  Most don't bother, they just want to believe what they first see.     I don't have the minimax but my 6.2 in my 2019 Silverado with 64k miles shows excellent UOA results with 0w-20 and for my own purposes 5w-20.  Since not much of a change using 5w. I liked the data sheet information on the SS 5w-20 and figured I would give it a try.  Still the same viscosity at 100℃.   In the end we all just do what makes us happy, life is too short to get upset over trivial social media.   On a side note, I do feel GM has dropped the ball and just cares about the bottom dollar and not quality anymore.  "Like a Rock" has been long gone.  Seems "Built Ford Tough" has as well.
    • Better than stock but that's like putting lipstick on a pig
    • Hello, my 3 month old Sierra Elevation wont recognize a trailer with electric brakes? All the lights work correctly, but no power to the brakes?   This is the factory installed brake controller. If you manually push the knob, the display shows the power % but does not light up like my 2022 silverado.   I have an appointment with the dealer, but was checking to see if anyone else has seen this issue.    Thanks,
    • Been using SS 0w-20 from new, but wanted to change to the 5w-20 because I liked the data on the data sheet, to me it seems like a little better product. But as you can see, not much difference. This is also with running a mix of 10 gallons E85 to a tank topped with 93. It isn't a flex fuel vehicle so any higher I get a CEL for running lean on both banks. Yes my mileage takes a hit. Instead of 20 mpg I normally get on trips I get 17mpg. This is also using EaO17 filter.  What is amazing is I have the AMSOIL cone filter on it since I have the GM Performance intake installed and that air filter has 44k miles on it.  I just take it out and shop vac it off once a year.  I use the upholstery tool on my shop vac.  Works well.
    • So, lot's of googling and reading, and a trial fit found, that indeed they hit the newer fatter caliper. I did some re-testing today, and found just 3/16" worth of washers was enough for the wheel to spin freely. I added 2 more on each, and again it spun freely. Tested lock to lock with the 4 washers, about 5/16" not quite the 3/8" Im considering, but pretty close. No issues. I've been looking at the BORA .375" spacers and using extended lugnuts to get back lost thread due to the spacer. All the ET lugs I've seen are all .33" reach inside the wheel lug holes. For those that don't like spacers or think they're unsafe, I think it depends on what type of spacers you're using and making sure you get good quality hubcentric ones, and if you're using bolt on ones, regular mainenance, checking the spacer lugs. Not wanting or needing that much spread. Looking for the minimum that will let me run these rims and tires.  it does look to stick out a little, but I really want put these on. and use the stock all-terrains in the winter.
