2014 GMC Front Air Dam Delete

Has anybody removed the air dam on the front of their new Sierra? It is so darn low it looks like a problem in the making even in moderately light off roading.

 

What real purpose does it serve?

Lots of members have. It's just another thing to maximize fuel economy. My 2011 has had it off since the first weekend I had the truck nearly 62000 miles ago.

I wonder what the mileage differential with vs. w/out the air dam is? It's gotta be quite small I'd guess.

Pulled it off the first day. Didn't notice any mpg difference from the first 20 miles.

I've seen many say at a minimum it was 1 mpg difference, more than I wanted have said a couple. It dramatically affects wind deflection around the truck...you should see the wind tunnel views they are searchable.

I doubt it's worth much. Air dams, AFM, etc is all trash foisted on us because the government has its nose where it doesn't belong seton fuel efficiency standards.
