LTZ auto folding mirrors not auto at all!

I have an option on the mylink to turn the "auto folding mirrors" on or off. So I turn them on and go about my day and notice they don't fold in when i shut the truck off or exit the truck and they don't fold out when i turn it on they do nothing at all..... so i get out the book and read... After turning on the "AUTOMATIC FOLDING MIRRORS" its says to manually hold in the lock button on the remote to fold them in and manually hold in the unlock button to fold them out.... Does really seam like anything automatic to me. That is like having a automatic transmission that you have to shift gears to get it to shift. Another job well done government motors!

You still need to shift into drive for an automatic transmission to work. It is the same premise as using your lock button to cause your mirrors to automatically fold in.

Automatic means automatic as in don't do anything and it automatically does it for you like on the ford f150 Cadillac and other gm models also its just stupid as hell.

Subject has already been covered. For the truck auto means power as in you dont have to get out of the truck to manually fold them in.

^^^and just like when you hit the door button, once they are engaged with the button press, they complete the cycle "automatically".

I can not wait until the 2015 ford F150s hit the road. I hate this thing more every day. I have had it 2 months and it has 200 miles on it as i only drive it when i have to. There are so many places Government motors has cut corners on their 48,000 dollar truck its not even funny any more.

Then go buy the ugly as hell F150. I got a 2011 in my backyard that doesn't run, but my GMC runs. The F150 was in an accident, but I will admit the 2008 Expedition we got is one of the best riding things i have been in.Neither Ford here(both are loaded) have your definition of "automatic" mirrors. Both power fold like my 2004 GMC and my friends 2014 Sierra SLT.

I have the power folding mirrors. I'm glad they don't fold in and out without my wanting them to. I can fold them in with the touch of a button at the carwash or with the key fob. They also "automatically" return to the position I had them in with my auto seat positioning. If driver # 2 sets the seat and mirrors to their liking, I just push #1 and they automatically return to my setting. I like 'em just the way they are. So I think they truly are automatic as they readjust automatically.

I think it's a great idea to get rid of your "Government Motors" truck and buy a Ford. It seems to me you're nitpicking here, and if you like to like to nitpick, that Ford should make you very happy.

Semi good example. My 08 you could program how it locked and when it locked and it would do it automatically. I set mine to not unlock any door other than the drivers when the ignition was off. Auto lock on startup. I haven't researched this in the 14 yet but I liked this feature.

That's why I own an 06 instead of a 14. Well it's one reason...

Sweet, now that you have made up your mind to go to Ford. You can stop posting here. Good luck with your new Ford.

You can program it this way. I tried it at first, but hated when I got out to and went to grab things out of the back I need to unlock the door, so now I have it set to unlock all 4 doors.

I traded in my 2004 for this thing and liked it much better. It was what it was a good truck. This thing they tried to get fancy but failed in my opinion. Its 2014 I also have the sport package not much sporty about a 6 foot tall antenna sticking off the hood. 2000 dollar chrome rims that don't have chrome valve stems. auto fold mirrors that don't auto fold. A mylink radio that cant do anything really. but GM does know this and is making that ALOT better and making it so you can add apps and make it custom so that's a plus. Hell 48k and checy brags about the bed rails that say Chevrolet to protect the bed but it does not have a bedliner in it lol... I honestly would be happier with a plain work truck power windows and lock and cd player at this point cause then that's what it is a truck...They cut way to many corners for the money paid on this LTZ. My favorite feature that was just activated today is this led lights under the mirrors that stay on 24/7... really don't want to disconnect the battery and hoping the LED lights don't drain it to much as they don't draw a lot of amps. This problem just started today when i looked in the garage. Will be calling the dealer in the morning.

I actually like the way GM programmed this feature. There are times I want them folded and other times I don't. All it takes is the simple touch of a button.

They are nice trucks. The price is what kept me from buying one. I went from an 05 to an 09 to an 11. The 09, was a huge disappointment for me from the 05, and the only thing I liked about my 11 was the 6.2 & 6l80e. The payments just became tiresome for what I was getting. Glad to be back in a GMT800 even if it needs fixed up. Easier to buy parts here, and there then to make a $575 a month vehicle payment.
