Engine Hours

I've had my truck since the end of April , I've been letting run threw the remote start every day for its first start of the day I think it's like 10 min. Then just for about 1 or 2 min after work. Doing the math it's looking like I'm Averaging 29 miles a hour. That needs to get way better I think? How long should a truck warm up for?

Me personally being warm right now, I let mine idle 30 seconds to a minute max then take off. Now if it were cold out I'd only let it idle for 2-3 minutes max. Of course the hourmeter on my generation truck was bad for resetting itself all the time so currently my average is about 122mph...I don't think so!

Depends on the temperature.

In the winter time up to 10min.

In the summer I wait 'til the rpm comes down to 700-600rpm before putting it into gear. So not even 30sec.

Why are you worried about the hourmeter anyway?

Then you'll have to drive faster to make up for the idle time...
