Hey I just put a 6" rough country lift on my truck and I didnt try towing with it before I put it on but I had my 4 wheeler in the bed and a jeep on a trailer going riding and I got less then 7mpg and it didnt want to pull hills I would have it flooded and still wouldnt want to pull a hill could it be from the lift and 37s I have on it or is something else wrong with it it seems to run good and I pushed the botton for tow

How tall were the tires that the truck came with stock? 37 in tires are about 6 inches taller than what comes on the half ton. That is dramatically taller, and will have a huge impact on the effective final drive ratio. It will also make the speedo so far out of calibration that you cannot compute your mileage from it correctly. It is nearly a 20% change in size. That means a 20% change in everything else as well. And not in the good direction for towing.

Yea my buddy told me how many miles we went I know it wont make the miles right and speed I know seen I put the lift on it the abs light stays on now to idk if that has something to do with it or not I know it wont get the best mpg just think if its gonna use that much gas it should pull hills alot better then it does

You need to get it recalibrated for those tires for starters

Do u think that will fix the towing issue or just the abs and is that just putting it on a computer to get it recalibrated?

That will only fix the abs and speedo. Simple reflash with scan tool. What you need for towing and mpg is to regear truck.

Thats what I was thinking I just didnt want to waste my money if it didnt help putting bettet gears in do u think its worth the money to put a straight alxe in it?

Your talking some serious $$$. What do you plan on using the truck for? Mud bogging, i could see straight axle swap. Otherwise no. Just my opinion.

Well I would so all the work myself so that would save me more money im not mud bogging but I was doing some pulling with it last weekend and broke a cv shaft and bent the drop brackets for the front diff

Gotcha. If your capable of doing the swap, have at it. Sky is the limit. Would be stronger. Thats for sure.

Yea ill have to c what its gonna cost and where I would need to get the kit from and what year truck to get the diff from. I just dont like to break stuff would rather do it the right way u know

Not sure on getting parts. Someone else is gonna have to chime in on that. I would say a google search would get you started.
