2015 towing mirrors

The amber lamps only illuminate currently when you unlock your vehicle and the old puddle lights would have been on. The turn signal in the glass is functioning like my old ones. These have the amber lights and the Red LEDs in the glass. Also for anyone that needs part #'s. This is right off the GM box it came in 23241465 and 23241467.

do you know which is driver which is passenger for part number? or anyone for that matter??

The amber LEDs are designed to be on constant whenever the running lights are on, that's how they work if you order them on a truck from the factory. However if you swap these mirrors onto a truck that didn't originally have them the amber running lights will only come on momentarily when you unlock the truck, as dkramer explained they utilize the same pin in the wiring harness as the puddle lamps on the original mirrors and will behave as such until you modify the wiring.

Some people here have chosen to wire them in so they only come on when the turn signal flashes, this is the easiest way to hook them up. or you can wire them into the running lights so they work as originally intended. Its also possible to wire them up with a relay so they are normally on constant and then they flash off when the turn signal activates.

Do you know how to wire then as running and turn signals? Without getting these circuit board harness things that seem to not be getting produced, understandably due to difficulty. I'm getting the mirrors and would like for sure the running lights if not running and turn signals.

Yes its rather simple... or should I say it can be... I saw what that guy was doing with the little circuit board modules he is making up. Looks like a slick idea but IMO its overkill and he's trying to package up a plug and play solution but I don't think it will ever truly be plug and play unless you already had the clearance lights working as intended from the factory. You can pretty easily add a normally closed relay in the circuit for the clearance light. Then if the clearance lights are energized and the turn signal circuit is activated, the turn signal circuit will energize the relay and break the clearance light circuit. The amber light will go OFF when the red on the rear of the mirror come ON. The amber lights will essentially blink in the inverse of the other turn signals and stay solid when the turn signal is not activated.

Anybody know the effort level to run a new wire back to the Panels to get the rear facing spotlights to work? I'm planning on splicing to have the ambers on as driving lights and would really like the functionality of the spotlights either coming on with my reverse lights or with the cargo button.

You can run a wire from the BCM under the dash to the lights in the mirrors.

Anybody have a pic of which wire they used to get the white lights in the mirrors to work while in reverse. I have read that you can tap in at the BCM or the fuse box under the hood. I would like to go the BCM route so I don't have to run wires thru the firewall. I'm just not sure which connector and wire it is in the BCM.

hey guys , new to the forum

I have a 2015 3500hd Silverado

I am going to the dealer on Monday to pickup my set of mirriors the 2015.5 chrome non power folds

I'm wondering if it's possible to just wire the Amber light into the break lights as I have done for some extra marker lights I installed

the only downside is they light up when you hit the breaks but hey it's like break lights in the front !

No pic but they are out there. Here is all you need:

The reverse light relay wire is in the same brown plug as the fog lights. Number 26, its brown with 2 blue stripes.

The cargo light relay wire is also number 26, brown wire white stripe, but it's in the pink plug to the left of the brown plug.

Thanks Frank. Quick follow up question. For the cargo lights if the vehicle is in gear will the LED's in the mirrors still come on or do those shut off when not in park or neutral? I like the idea of these controlled by the cargo lamp toggle however I want to ensure when backing up a trailer at night that these are on.

Yes they would, if you jumpered the cargo and back-up lights. Mine are reverse lights only at this point.

Hey guys

I got my mirriors and I have installed then as running \ Flashers

I have made a video that's kind of step by step that I will be posting to YouTube for everyone to see how to do this install

it's quite straight foward but requires patience
