***UPDATE*** Ok, you guys are definitely on to something with the ANC mics! I had the dealer stuff foam insulation into all 3 mics without disabling the ANC. For the first time since owning either my first Denali (GM repurchased) or my new 2015i Denali, my ears did not pop! I did not feel the pressure which I normally feel. I can't believe it. This is based on one 30 minute drive at varied speeds leaving the dealership. I will keep you posted as I get more windshield time this week. I am glad to have so many smart friends on this site! Nice work, All!

tobtek - good test, wrong result, minor setback. There are still 13 other things we can try, not to include something else I am fabricating. If someone was near me I could try the actual MP I fabricated versus an ear plug. Did you also tape the plugs into place covering the plugs and mic? If not, try it again. While you have them off, try the 20sierra14 cotton ball and tape concept.

jasondenali15 - The MP I fabricated is also made of foam versus an ear plug, that's good news. It appears more dealers are reading this thread, customers continue to recommend they spend an evening to read the pages. Just stuffing foam into the mic will have a short term impact unless they secured it in-place, same recommendation in my initial input. So, pop the grilles, see if they are secured in-place. If not, break out the duct tape and lock them in.

Will do. I asked them to use cotton balls or some other form of cotton. They thought the foam would work better. After the initial drive, I am giddy to drive it again. This whole "job" thing just gets in the way...

Yes, had masking tape over the ear plugs. Will try the cotton balls next.

Last I spoke with the GM field engineer ( few weeks ago) they were getting us "new redesigned" shocks. Haven't heard a word from anybody since.

While removing the ear plugs, was taping and pushing on the headliner. There may be something to this ??? Back by the rear vents (which rattle when you tap the headliner) there seems to be a considerable amount of space between the liner and whatever is up above it. Looks like a few inches. ???? Who on here has had them do headliner work?

The tires on your car sits in what is referred to as the wheel well, this is for an understanding of what I mean whenI say “mic well” (MW). I have fabricated a MW, something for your mic to sit into and in essence be isolated from "space". A precisely fabricated MP is the "best" option to mitigate the pressure, but the MW should be a "very good" option. Unoccupied space under the headliner is a big problem, but our direction for mitigation will compensate, regardless of what is causing the pressure. Recommend we keep pressing until our options have been exhausted, while remaining within scope of the warranty.

When options are listed, we need people to try them so they can be improved or eliminated.

Tobtek / jasondenali15 - how about you guys posting some pics w/wo tape. Also Tobtek, were the EPs made of rubber or foam? Next time you may want to go large and get the 40 cent plugs.

I've been reading previous posts with interest since I have a Yukon Denali on order. Are any of the microphones being plugged up used for cell phone bluetooth purposes or is there another interior microphone for this purpose in the vehicle?

marygladys - your comment "Anyhow, I understand the mics are messed up, but is disabling AudioPilot not an easy workaround". I don't think disabling BAP will disable ANC, may not be that easy. Also, I think the mics are performing exactly how the manufacturer (Bose) intended, don't believe them to be messed-up.

october - cell phone mic is not included with the mics we are referring, that one will remain unplugged, but you have a point. Jasonsenali15 can answer that one, dealer just plugged his mics. Being fully functional though, I would say it should

pokermunkee - that's the first I've heard of the rear end, lot going on back there. Can't discount the rear end as a "cause", but what we are doing is mitigating the "effect". We'll drop that one on the tool belt, may have to pull it out later. Good input

I would suggest though, before anyone allow a dealer to change the rear end, drive axle, pull your headliner, adjust your sunroof, change your tires and wheels, road force your wheels, and a few others on this thread, you try these two inexpensive quick methods first;

1 ) the cotton balls and tape or, 2) plug the mic. I have a mic plug (MP), but an option to the MP is an ear plug (EP). The EP should be dense quality foam, cut and compressed into the O ring of the mic, then covered with preferrably packing or duct tape. Take your time and do it right. If it works, you may be able to handle driving your truck until we can try all options to see what works best with your truck. At the very least, your truck will be in one piece versus pieces.
