Yeah I would agree wrench, you are missing something. De-energizing ANC as you put it may not be the answer. Look at the cotton balls and tape, it decreases the pressure by 95%, ANC was not disabled. I never set out to find the answer, always defaulted to GM owning that responsibility. So, you'll just have to do the research and figure that one out.

Hey - I mention the MP in post 630, but that's not a silver bullet. The silver bullet is GM issuing a fix, so we are not there yet. In the meantime, the thread may have lost some steam awaiting 20sierra14's comment on a PM I sent him on a viable option (15) for the 2 piece MP. 20sierra may be overcome by events and may not be able to engage option 15 and the folks having the pressure and buffeting can't wait. Respectfully recommend some other folks get on board and make something happen versus waiting on something to happen.

I would like to send someone the actual 2 piece MP, but I would need precision mic measures. Without the measurements, here is option 15; go to the store, pick up a pair of dense foam ear plugs (EP). Remove the grille then cut the EP down in circumference to fit within the inner ring of the O ring, then compress the EP into the space. Keep the EP compressed and take about a 1" piece of duct tape and cover from one end of the outer O ring to the other keeping the EP as compressed as possible while taping. Cotton balls should not be needed since option 15 isolates the mic to the maximum extent. Replace your grilles, exterior tape will also not be needed. Give it a test drive and post results

My daughter uses these when she swims http://www.swimtowin.com/products/3884?gclid=CKzJzZyes8MCFZE1aQodlzAAyw they are soft and moldable silicone. You can trim them to size and ball them up and jam them into the ear canal. I'm sure they could be jammed into the mic grill.

Mortman - The intent of the MP is to plug the mic versus the grille, but I think I'll order me a pair and see how I can use them. Although when I started down this rabbit hole it was to modify the grille, that's still not off the plate. Mold-able silicone, does it hardened like the silicone used for fixes around the home?

No...they stay pretty pliable. She uses them for swimming so we put them back in the case after her practices/meets. Not sure if they would harden if I kept them in the open. We just pluck them out of her ears and ball them back up. Next practice we roll them out and stuff them back in her ear canal.

Those that had the headliner removed, do you know by looking at the work invoice if the dealer used a form fitting foam (FFF) headliner or if they just sprayed or packed foam in as a filler? I went around my truck yesterday and tested my headliner, other than right around the air vents, my headliner fits jelly-tight. It gives the impression that it's a FFF headliner. Someone mentioned before that their headliner was extremely loose fitting. I will pop my vent covers this weekend and look around

Also, if you are about to get your headliner removed, asked the dealer what materials are involved with re-installing and how will it be applied.

I have a new 2015 Escalade ESV (purchased October 2015 and built in Arlington) and it started the buffeting sound about 1 month ago. It now has approximately 6000 miles on it. The effect is getting worse every day and physically hurts my ears going over a railroad track. Before we purchased it we test drove a denali and the buffeting was so bad, even the salesman who was riding in the back noticed it and thought it might be the tires, so we got another one and tested it and we did not hear it, but we still ended up choosing the escalade. I have an appointment in 3 days with our dealership (not same dealership as where it was purchased) and I am curious to see what happens after reading all these posts. Not that it matters - but I am an attorney and own a 5 lawyer firm, so hopefully it won't get that far, but this problem seems to be very widespread. If I have missed anything and should be telling them something, please let me know (there are 40 pages on here - so it's entirely possibly I missed something important). Thanks for all the information!!

Update - Car was at the dealership for 1 day - they drove it themselves and heard and felt it. They are ordering the parts for the headliner/roof fix. I'll keep you posted.

QUESTION...... I see the pics of the grills. Can you get these out without damaging the grill or headliner?

tobtek - I can't get to mine, but looking at what 20sierra posted, a rubber spatula versus a screwdriver should work without causing damage

Hey everyone, I have this same problem. I noticed that the bass was extraordinarily heavy and my ears were killing me. I played around with the base and it was a no go. Then I turned off the Bose AudioPilot in the settings and it seems to have gone away. Sure, I hear more of the outside world, but for in town driving, that isn't bad. I will be trying it on the freeway this weekend, though.

I read a huge chunk of this thread and I was wondering if anyone tried this? The stereo isn't so bad. My biggest gripe is with Intellilink. It has a hard time handling Pandora and my iPod. I suspect it needs extra RAM or something.

Anyhow, I understand the mics are messed up, but is disabling AudioPilot not an easy workaround?

I was able to get them off with my fingers... No damage done to the grilles.

So pop'd the three grills off, ran over to the gun shop and picked up the ear plugs for 39 cents. Cut them into halfs, they fit perfect.

Sorry to say it's exactly the same. Still has the same tunnel sound over every little bump in the road. Still fills and sounds like it's running out of gas in V4 mode, just lumbering down the road.

Anyone else with the 6 liter, experiencing a chirping sound every time you give it gas coming off V4 mode? Sounds like a valve in the exhast system?

Was hoping the 39 cent ear plugs in the ANC mic's would be the trick. No dice
