Well we drove several suburbans some with the problem one with no problems at all. We went on a long test drive ( they said go where ever you want and take as long as you want) with no salesman on rough roads interstate all kinds of driving conditions and had no problems. The rest of the suburbans we drove I wanted to almost turn around as soon as we left the lot. I hope I didnt make a mistake, I hope it continues to drive with no problems will keep the forum updated.

Fingers crossed, buddy! I hope you're good to go. Keep us posted one way or the other.

Yea, definitely good news. Correct if I'm wrong, but I believe this is the second time we've got a report of one of these suv's having the problem fixed. Quite some time ago, there was a post on one of the forums from someone who worked at a dealership that they changed the rear end in a customers vehicle and the problem went away. Now, same thing again. So, that is very, very compelling evidence.

Now, this fella is saying the problem is still there when he puts it in 4wd....yea, because the front crown and pinion is NFG too!! That's a no brainer - need to change them both.

Looks like it's time to call the dealer....

All of these fixes, at least what I can surmise, target one main factor - vibration. So what happens when a tire gets out of balance again? I am not convinced any of these fixes will last long term. In my opinion, something in the design needs to be changed. I'm hoping we hear more stories of newer builds not exhibiting the issues but for existing owners with earlier builds I don't see much in the way of a path to a solid fix so far.

I share you concern that if perfect balanced tires solves it, then it will be a short lived solution. But, if it turns out to be somehting inherently wrong with the crown and pinions or driveshaft, then that is a different story. That is permanently correctable. And to be honest, the crown and pinion or driveshaft is something that

1) has caused these kinds of issues on vehicles in past, many, many times,

2) it carrying enough energy to excite anything in the vehicle to annoying levels.

I must admit that I'm still struggling to see it's the crown/pinion or driveshaft since mine seems sensitive to road surface, but vibration is a crazy thing to locate and resolve sometimes. And we can't ignore the two reports of new rear end fixing the issue.

To your point Wrench589, perhaps certain road surfaces [or engine load] trigger the vibration? Who knows. Lots of variables that I'm sure every car manufacturer has expertise in.

I had a driveshaft vibration in my 2001 Firebird Firehawk. It was very difficult to diagnose and very annoying. And it got fixed by my dealer.

I'm encouraged that GM has acknowledged the problem [albeit unofficially] and are taking action to remedy it. Now we're seeing results. This is progress. This isn't the first time that a manufacturer had issues with a new model and I'm sure it won't be the last.

After sitting on the fence for some time now, I've decided to order a 2015 Yukon. It's a fantastic truck that meets all my wants/needs and to me, one of the advantages of buying domestic is better dealer/manufacturer support.

Did you experience vibrations during any test drives? When are you expecting the new truck? I'm still on the fence but will be watching as people receive newer vehicles to see if anything has been corrected. Keep us posted when you get your new truck.

I have not experienced the vibrations and my dealership claims to have had no reports of the issue. I'm in suburban Toronto though, which isn't exactly truck country, so take that for what it's worth. Two managers at my dealership drive 2015 Yukons [one 2015d, one 2015i] and both are vibration free.

I'm placing an order for a new one with the expectation of a May or June delivery, when my Buick Enclave lease is up.

2015 i Escalade update.

Picked up the Lad after another two week stay at the dealers cirus department. Found out the main hold up was, after they took all the shocks off the install the new updated shocks. GM Engineering called and said WAIT we have the New New shocks to try. Well picked it up this morning. Pulled out of the dealerships drive way, gave it some gas and the the exhaust chip is of course still there. Went to get on the freeway, and of course there is still a two step accelerator pedal. Still mash it and it feels like you've reached the floor. Then push more and there's another inch or so of pedal. The paperwork shows " can not duplicate" that's such BS! And of course the CUE system locked up while playing music via Bluetooth. Errrr.

BUT after driving it 25 miles to work the suspension is 1000x better! Now it rides like you'd expect. Solid without being incredibly overly harsh and firm. Sporty but still comfortable! You don't feel every little turtle when changing lanes. The road I come to work on is pretty rough, and again it's A COMPLETE DIFFERENT RIDE! IF you have magnetic ride control RUN don't walk to your dealer. These new new shocks seem to be so much better. Looking forward to driving it more to confirm all of this. Time will tell, but I think GM is on the right track with the suspension.

From the owner's manual

Kickdown Mode

The accelerator pedal provides an

additional downshift after pressing

through the kickdown feature.

It requires extra pedal pressure near

the end of its travel to engage.

Tobtek, that's awesome. I'm extremely encouraged to hear that the new shocks solved the harness of the ride. I've always felt it was way too harsh. Now I just have to convince my dealer to get them.

I can't recall, but were you also having the buffeting/pressure issue? Did the shocks solve that too?

Yes I have booming/ buffeting / droning. It now rides better, but still can hear and feel it in my ears. Has several problems that are not resolved. On the way home I now noticed the Nav system thinks I'm in Michigan now ?? That's pretty close to San Diego right? Tried to call OnStar. That's not working either now. REALLY? LoL. What a total joke!

Glad to see above the accelerator is normal. Kind of surprised the service advisor couldn't tell me about this. Since he said he checked with GM about the issue. Hmmm.

Overall I'm 100% disappoint with this vehicle. 100% over dealing with it !

My GPS antenna was dead when I test drove it. Same problem you are having. Bad thing is they have to rip the dash out to run the new antenna and cable. Some people have had leaks from the new one. I haven't but they are on their forth try at installing the dash back without scratching or damaging the parts.

I too am encouraged about the new new shocks and smoother ride. Is your Escalade the long model or regular length? Buffeting seems more common in the longer models. Was it diminished at all after the new new shocks?

We have a SWB 4wd. The sound is a little better over small bumps for the shocks are actually absorbing a bit now.

For the last two weeks I've been driving a loaner 2012 Yukon. It has No strange pressure or sound issues. My drive home from work is about 25 miles, was completely annoyed driving our Escalade home. Has anyone else noticed the buffeting is more pronounced between 35-40 mph?

Don't want to, but think I'm leaning towards going back to another Toyota Tundra to pull the boat. :( Can't believe we have owned this Escalade since Dec 18th and its already been at the dealers service department 6 weeks. And now has to go right back.
