Side Moldings

Looked at my truck yesterday and noticed that the side moldings are starting to come off. I know most people just remove them, but this is an almost 8yr old truck know and I'm worried that if i just take them off, Ill be able to see the difference in the paint. It looks like they are basically stuck on with a two sided foam tape? Does anyone know of a good quality replacement that i could use to stick them back on? Thanks in advance.

Go to any auto parts or home center and get the 3M double sided trim tape, when I had my 04 the molding started coming off so I pull the loose molding off cleaned the back side of the molding where the tape was and reinstalled, worked great.

Just make sure to clean the surfaces VERY well with something like rubbing alcohol. IF not it may not adhere properly. This happened to mine and I fought with that 3M trim tape for months before taking it all apart and cleaning everything really well and putting them back on. After the respray recently I took them off and threw them in the trash anyways tho lol.

Yeah gonna grab some 3m adhesive/tar remover to help with the cleaning.

along with the 3M tape if use there adhesion promoter, its an added layer of protection to make them stick . Use it on the moulding just where the tape is going to be , you can use it on the paint but only put it on the truck where the tape is going to stick if you get it past where the moulding is you can see the promoter :nonod: , tape it off

Brand new 2016 Denali and the chrome trim is coming lose on drivers door. Photo is the back end of the drivers door lower chrome trim. The passenger door is doing the same thing just not quite as bad yet. I know it is covered under the warranty and will get it fixed but I wanted to see if the issue was widespread. Can you guys check the front doors lower trim back end to see if it is coming lose on yours and let me know. I just love it when I talk to my dealership (expert advisor) and they say they have never even heard of such an issue and that it be the rarest thing on earth....
