They initially quoted me 180 CAD for a year. I said that iws way too much with all the options out there. They knocked it down to 80 CAD.

Just be careful giving your credit card # to this bunch. In my experience if they get that it's almost impossible to get rid of them. They auto-renewed me even though I called to cancel When I deal with them I request an invoice and I pay with a money order. For a mainstream company I've always found their business practices to be somewhat shady.

With that said I'm doing 5 months/$25. If they don't have your cc and you call to cancel you almost can name your own price when you call to cancel.

I refuse to give them a CC #. I pay them by check. Last time I renewed I paid about $80 for a year of XM w/ the best of Sirius.

Well said. Same here. I refuse to allow them to renew for me. Threaten to cancel daily.

XM listener since 99. ohhhhhh how i miss Squizz!

we(wife and I) have them in each vehicle. like the above posts say - Auto-renew sucks. they'll charge you the FULL MSRP amount for a 12 month period. (14.99 x 12..+TTL, etc) BOOM - right on the CC - of Heaven forbid the DEBIT Card.

honestly - i just wrestle - stomp and temper trantrum and make them fight for each penny, every 6 months.

but- paying with a CHECK is a good idea !

and same prices - around $5/mo or so...

I occasionally use Pandora - but Free Pandora still has ads. I would rather hear Chuck Woolery talk about Australian Dream..or Cremo.

^i miss Squizz as well! Sirius blows now. Get Pandora and pay the $4.99 to upgrade to ad-free streaming. You get a much better music selection than anything Sirius will ever offer again. Sirius is basically becoming FM radio that you pay for to eliminate some commercials. But the playlist quality continues to decline and they keep getting more DJs talking over songs and cutting them short.

i signed up with XM back in 2003 when full price was about $5 a month, i refuse to pay anymore than that. i turned my last radio with them off a couple yrs ago when i got a email saying it was going up to be above $20 a month.

when the free trial is over if they want to offer me $5 a month or the old $300 for lifetime ill take it, otherwise im pulling the plug, not worth it IMO.

My free trial ended a few days ago, so my radio has been inactive for a few days... I just called them up and asked for 6 months for $25 and they gave it to me with no hassle. With taxes and fees it came out to $28.11 for 6 months, or $4.69 per month.

They did require that I pay with an card on the spot. I asked them to mail me the bill so that I could pay with a check and not be auto-renewed, but they said there would be an additional $2 fee for a paper bill. I declined the extra fee and paid with a credit card. I will just call back in a few days and have them remove the auto renew option from my account. If they refuse, I will just cancel again.

I called 855-815-1001 and spoke with a nice fellow in an Indian call center, who's thick Indian accent made it all but impossible to understand, despite telling me his name was 'Brian'. LOL.

As an update: My subscription auto renewed, for 6 months...... at $107....!!! I immediately called and had that corrected. I started out calm and asked for a refund and cancellation. They offered 12 months at that rate. I said I want the 6 months at 24 again or cancel. He said OK. Not too much haggling involved. I also made them remove my card info and send a confirmation email detailing that. I will have to call every 6 months it seems to keep this deal, but it's the best so far. Does anyone know if they do the lifetime deal and for how much?

The $4 a month sans fees I got, is for the Select package, middle one. I don't have NAV, so none of the traffic/advisories options. Just as an FYI

I only listen to the news and CSPAN through Sirius. Wish they had a news package. Said no until $24/6. Seems like a fair price. The retail prices are insane.
