Has anyone "recently" renewed their Sirius subscription and gotten a real good deal? My plan just expired and I want some numbers before I try to negotiate.

I got 6 months for $30 and was offered one year for $60

I think mine was under 30 fpr 6 months. For the basic anyway. Its what I read was the best at the time. 4 something a month. They offered it to me after a few days as claybrn said.

You have to tell them you want to cancel. They will cut it in half again and again until it's $30 for 6 months.

I renewed mine in May a day before the trial expired. Haggled with the guy and got $72 for the year, so $6/month. That included the tax and their "music royalty fee" or whatever it's called.

Remind them that you can stream Pandora for free and the truck even has a built-in app for Pandora. Calling and saying I want to cancel since Pandora is free has worked for me several times over the past years on four different cars I've had with XM. This usually gets a significant discount. The last time they gave me a great discount but made me pay a year in advance lump sum, which was fine for me.

The best deals they offer are either the $20 for 5 months, or the $25 for 6 months. If you are on a plan longer than 5 or 6 months, then you are more than likely paying more for your plan. Some folks (like me) don't mind calling and renewing every 5 or 6 months as long as I know I'm getting the absolute best deal. For others who don't want to be bothered to have to go through the renewal process every 5 or 6 months, might find it worth while paying a bit more for a longer term plan.

 

I'm still on month 7 of my free XM subscription, with 1 more month to go before I need to sign up for the $20/5 plan.

Screw Sirius they fired Anthony Cumia from the Opie and Anthony Show. On top of that, the music channels have gotten progressively worse since the merger between XM and Sirius. I was an XM customer since 2004 and cancelled my subscription last week. I now listen exclusively to Pandora for music and podcasts for talk entertainment. Between the two I save money and get better music selection than anything SiriusXM can offer.

 

But before I canclled, I got offered 6 months at $4.99/month.

Mines been off for a month already and haven't heard a peep from these people. I'm waiting til I hear from them to resub... I sure am missing Liquid Metal! :driving:

Wow! I have been a subscriber since 2004. I just called them and told them I wanted to cancel because the price was too high and they gave me a rate of $112 that includes the radio and the NavTraffic and Travel Link for 1 year. Very happy that I saved over $100! They said that this is a promotional offer. If you have already let yours expire, you might want to call them and ask about the promotional offer of $89 for a year.

I paid $24 for 6 months plus their bs additional charges at checkout. I will be canceling in after the 6 months are up and wait till they offer me another cheap deal

      Thanks; I looked there a few minutes, and I think I can find something. I really never looked there, as I thought it was stuff like PTO/aftermarket bodies/accessories like snow plows.

      This is a 1/2 ton thing ONLY.  All HDs 2020-2026 have the two speed transfer case, with Autotrac as an option.     1/2 tons 2019-2026, regular 4x4s come with a single speed case (no 4LO!), and trucks with Z71 ordered, or all Trail Boss trucks come with the 2 speed case.  2 speed case is also an option on WT, and is also standard on High Country.

      2013 5.3 still to this day calls for the PF48 filter.  Which as a 15psi bypass pressure.     There is a TSB, 17-NA-157 that talks about the PF-63 and PF-64 filters which have a higher bypass rating of 22psi.    TSB HERE - temp.xml   "Beginning in 2012, the oil pumps began to regulate main gallery feedback instead of pump out pressure. This means that the oil pump now does not begin to regulate until pressure is built up to the main gallery. This change reduces the amount of time it takes to provide oil to the engine bearing and lifters during extreme cold start conditions.  Main gallery feedback oil pump control systems are present on the following engine families which use Spin-on oil filters: Small Gas Engine (SGE), Large Gas Engine (LGE), High Feature (HFV6) Gen2 and Small Block Gen5 gasoline engines. These engines with the main gallery feedback oil pump control systems are factory built with an ACDelco® oil filters"   It also calls out what engines use those filters.  The gen 4 small blocks were not on that list (LMG, LC9, L9H, L92, L94, L20, L96).  Gen 5 small blocks use the higher pressure filter.          That all said...   Your 7045 Napa filter is the PF63 equivalent, with 22psi bypass.  You are already using the higher bypass pressure filter.  You CAN keep using it, you don't technically have to use it though.

      Do you know WHY the filter relief setting was increased to 22 psig?    When the new system goes into the second stage the pump volume ramps up considerably. It was found that the 15 psi filter bypass setting put the filter in bypass on a warm engine when the second stage was activated. Raising the filter bypass setting forced the filter to do what it designed to do. Filter. Preventing debris from circulating during high load, high rpm operation.    So next question is how did GM find this out? VLOM/lifter failures and a deep dive by Melling Corp.    Last question. Is it required? Look at it like this; a motor may be equipped with a rev limiter. But it only works if the set point in reached. That 22 psig setting only matters if the pressure differential across the filter media exceeds 15 psig during normal warm operation. Second stage kicks in around 3000-3500 rpm.    I can't answer your question because I don't know you and how you use the truck. But I think there is enough information here to let you decide for yourself. 😉
